The device illustrated comprises a pouch member 1 which is adapted to be strapped to the body of the wearer in such a position that the penis will be inclosed in the pouch. Ihe pouch is made wider at its upper end and is providedwith the rearward extension 2 in which the testicles are received, and at its front end it is provided with the upwardly-directed apron 3 which overlies the abdomen of the wearer. The device is also provided with the straps 4 by which it may be strapped in place.

Extendin across the pouch at approximately the base of the extension 2 is a diaphragm or partition 5 which is provided with an opening'6 to receive the penis and depending from the diaphragm is a circular apron 7.

The device asthus far described is of known construction. In the use of a urinal of this ty e it sometimes happens that the urine will flow back into the extension 2 sion, especially when the person wearing the device is in a sitting posture. In order to overcome this difficulty and to provide a urinal which will prevent any possible leakage of the urine at the rear; I propose to make the urinal with an additional guard diaphragm 8 which extends across the rear extension 2 above the bottom thereof and thus forms a pocket 9 which will catch and retain any liquid whichtends to flow backwardly toward the rear of the device. *The provision of this guard diaphragm 8 prevents any possibility of liquid leaking over the rear edge of the urinal. I will also preferably extend the guard diaphragm 8 clear to the front wall of the pouch in which case said diaphragm will be provided with an opening 10 for the reception of the penis.

By this construction addedprotection is afforded againstany leakage of the liquid.

One source of annoyance inthe use of a urinal of this type arises from the fact that the penis sometimes becomes withdrawn from the opening 6, in which case the liquid will be discharged above the diaphragm 5 rather than into the pouch below said diaphragm. In order to avoid such an occurrence, I propose to make the opening 10 in the guard diaphragm 8 by forming therein a U-shaped slit and then turning up the flap 11 formed by the slit, the turning-up of the flap providing the necessary opening for the penis. By making the slit so that the flap when turned up is on the front side of the opening, said flap will assist in retaining the penis in said opening. Urinals of this type are usually made of rubber and the natural tendency of the fiap 11- will be to swingdown downwardly into a plane parallel with the diaphragm, and the flap will thus press against the penis and tend to hold it in position. Further, by this construction the size of the opening 10 will automatically accommodate itself to the size of the penis so that there is less likelihood of any leakage occurring.

12 is a receptacle which is adapted to be detachably secured to the lower edge of the pouch 1 and which may be strapped to the leg of the user, all as usual in devices of this nature.

The diaphragm 8 also acts to support the testicles so as to prevent them from coming pouch adjacent the top and provided with a penis-receiving aperture, said pouch having a rearward extension above said partition, and a guard diaphragm extending across said rearward extension above the bottom thereof and forming therewith a pocket to retain any liquid which may be discharged over the top of said partition.

A urinal comprising a pouch having an open top shaped to fit thebody of the wearer, a partition extending across said pouch adjacent the top and provided with a penis-receiving aperture, said pouch having a rearward extension above said diaphragm, and a guard diaphragm extending across the pouch above said partition, said guard diaphragm being provided with a penis-receiving aperture.

3. A urinal comprisinga pouch having an phragm, and a guard diaphragm extending across the pouch above said partition, said guard diaphragm being provided with a U- shaped slit through which the penis may be inserted.
