To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, CHARLES E. ERICKSEN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Indianapolis, in the county of Marion and State of Indiana, have invented new and useful Improvements in Forming-Machines, of which the following is a specification.
This invention comprehends improvements in forming machines for oleo stock butter, butterin and like products and has for one of its objects, the provision of such a device of extremely simple and practical construction, which may be easily operated to form and cut the stock.
The invention also aims to generally improve such machines to render them more practical, useful and commercially desirable.
With the above and other objects in view, the invention consists in the construction, combination and arrangement of parts hereinafter set forth in and falling within the scope of the claims.

Figure 1 is a view in front elevation, partly in section, of the molding table.
Fig. 2 is an end view of the molding table.
Fig. 3 is an enlarged detail view showing the construction of the mold.
Fig. 4 is a sectional view on the line 88 of Fig. 3.
In the drawings, I have shown a forming machine or molding table constructed in accordance with my invention. This molding table comprises a platform 25 supported upon legs 26. Uprising from the platform 25 adjacent to the opposite ends thereof are pairs of vertical guides 27. The guides of each pair are spaced apart transversely of the table and lie parallel with each other and aline with the respective guides of the other pair. Interconnecting the guides of each pair at the upper ends thereof is a cross bar 28 and spanning the space between the cross bars 28 and suitably fastened thereto is a longitudinal bar 29. Slidably mounted within the guides of the pairs 27 are frames 30 capable of vertical sliding movement and the lower bars of the frames 30 are connected to arms 31 respectively that project outwardly beyond the side edges of the table and are then turned down as at 32. Connected to the down turned ends of the respective arms are depending links 33 and the lower ends of the links 33 are connected to a longitudinal bar 34: arranged below the platform 25. Depending from the bar 34 are link rods 35 having the lower extremities thereof connected with a foot pedal 36. Secured to the top bars of the frames 30 and arranged longitudinally of the platform are tie rods 37. Secured to the bottom bars of the frame 30 and arranged longitudinally of the platform are a pair of yokes 38 in which are positioned the adjustable holding screws 39 to which are connected. cutter wires 40. The wires may be tensioned by a longitudinal adjustment of their holding screws and may be spaced the desired distance apart by the lateral adjustment of the holding screws within the yokes. Secured to the top bars of the frames and extending longitudinally of the table is a plate 41 carrying butter stamps and said plate is connected by a retractile spring a3 to the bar 29.
In practice, the spring 43 holds the yokes carrying the cutter wires elevated and the mold of butter or butterin is placed upon the platform 25 below the cutter wires. The pedal lever 36 is now swung downwardly against the action of the foot and in the downward movement of this lever, the bar 34 and links 33 pull the frames 30 and the yokes 38 downwardly against the action of the spring 43 and in the downward move ment of the yokes the cutter wires 40 cut the mold of butter into relatively small molds, while the butter stamps L2 engage the upper edges of the respective molds.
While I have herein shown and described the preferred form of my invention by way of illustration, I wish it to be understood that I do not limit or confine myself to the precise details of construction herein described and delineated, as modification and variation may be made within the scope of the claims and without departing from the spirit of the invention.
