To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, WILLIAM A. I-Insrnn, a citizen of the United States, residing at Evansville, in the county of Vanderburg and State of Indiana, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Pockets for Overalls, &c.; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters and figures of refer ence marked thereon, which form a part of this specification. I

This invention relates to new and useful improvements in pockets, especially adapted for use upon overalls and consists in the provision of a detachable pocket held to a flap upon the overall by means of fasteners.

The invention comprises various details of construction, combinations and arrangements of parts which will be hereinafter fully described, shown in the accompanying drawings and then specifically defined in the appended claim.

My invention is illustrated in the accompanyin drawings, in which: Figure 1 is a plan vlew showing the application of the pocket. Fig. 2 is a cross sectional view taken on line 22 of Fig. 1, and Fig. 3 is a detail perspective view of the pocket.

Reference now being had to the details of the drawings by letter, A designates overalls, and B is a flap projecting from the central band D, said flap being provided with eyelets F. A pocket, designated by letter H, which is of any shape or size, is provided with a flap N projecting above the upper openings of the pocket and which is provided with eyelets B.

Upon reference to Fig. 2, it will be noted that the supplemental pocket H is supported by the depending flap of the band and that the fastening means extends through the oppositely disposed overlapped flaps of said band and the supplemental pocket, so that all strain and weight are carried by the band and not by the pocket proper, so that the weight of the articles carried in the pocket H in no wise affects the pocket proper, which latter is carried by the band independent of the flap.

What I claim to be new is In combination with overalls having a band with a depending intermediate flap having eyelets and a pocket supported from said band, of a supplemental detachable pocket having a flap projecting above the opening in said pocket and having eyelets, and separable fastening devices passed through the eyelets in the overlapped flaps and securing the flaps together in overlapped condition, said fastening means being independent and disconnected from the pocket proper.
