,Be it known that' I, VALENTINE Pirsmn, a citizen of the United States, residing' at ew York, in the county'of Bronx and State of N ew York, have invented new and useful Improvements in Valve-Grinders, of which the following isa-specification.
The invention relates to an improvement in valve grinders, particularly designed for use in grinding automobile valves in then seats.v v i ln grinding* this type of valve, it has been found that to secure a proper seat it is-necessaiiy to reciprocate the valve on its lseat following the application of a suitable valve Agrinding' compound, the valve being reciprocated` rather than rotated in order to secure contact under any and all conditions, as the valve. frictronally rotates in use. The improved valve grinder comprises a stemformed at one end with a handle and at the opposite end with an appropriately shapedl terminal to engage the valve, the stem having,r a longitudinal movable element and there being1 provided a cooperating connection between the stem and element to rapidly and rotarily reciprocate the stem the valve inthe movement of the element longitudinally of the stem.
