Be it known that I, MAUmon Lncnimiv, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of New York, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Knockdown Barrels, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to shipping recep tacles or containers particularly of the knockdown type.

An extremely thin sheet of metal is all that is necessary, in fact so thin that it merely amounts practically to a coating of metal on the paper surface, yet the coating is of sufiicient strength to protect the paper. this construction the weight is kept low and the desired strength is maintained while anyob ections which might be raised against having exposed paper surfaces are avoided.

The invention is primarily designed for knockdown. barrels, kegs and similar forms of receptacles and relates to the novel constructionof stave or section as well as to the construction of the container as a whole.

The invention consists of the novel parts, combinations of parts and details of con struction hereinafter more particularly described and then specified in the claims.
