Be it known that I, \VILLIAM A. SCHMIDT, a citizen of the United States, residing at Newark, in the county of Essex and State of New Jersey, have invented new and use-- ful Improvements in a Combined Collapsible Display Post-Card and Receptacle, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to a combined collapsible display post card and receptacle.

The principal object of the invention resides in the construction and arrangement of parts wherein the address portion of the card and receptacle is not provided with creases.

WVith these and other objects in view, the invention consists of improvements hereinafter described and finally claimed.

The nature, characteristic features and scope'of the invention will be more fully understood from the following description taken in connection with the accompanying drawings forming a part hereof and m which:-

Fig. 3 is a view of my invention showing the receptacle in collapsed position when ready for use as a mailing card.

Throughout the separate views the same part is designated by the same reference character.

Referring to the drawings it will be seen that the device consists of three major substantially rectangular portions, 1, 2-3, and 4-5 of equal size and creased as at a, b, c, and d; so as to allow portions 23 and ,45 to be collapsed'one above the other thereby forming a compact mailing card. The crease d divides the portion 45 into a major and minor portion, while the crease b divides the portion 2-3 into a major and minor portion, it being understood that the portions 24 and 3 5 respectively, are of equal size. The portion 5 is fastened to the portion 1 at the juncture of the portions 1 and 2 whereby the receptacle formed of the portions 23, 45 is extended when the cover is raised as is shown in Fig. 2; ob-

When used for display or advertising purposes on counters, showcases, etc., the cover portion 1 serves in its open position as support or holder for the receptacle.

As shown in Fig. 2 of the drawing the portion 4 is provided with an aperture which may be surrounded by a suitable ornamental design, said aperture serving to display the artistic design, ornamentation, picture, photograph, advertising matter or the like contained on the back of portion 2, when the cover is raised.

The outer surface of the portion 1 is arranged to receive the address and contain the correspondence.

\Vhen used as a mailing card the cover and receptacle portions are held in folded position by any suitable fastening means, which are not shown, as these means do not form a part of the present invention.

Having now described my invention as best known to me at the present time for practising the same, I do not limit myself to the exact construction shown as I reserve the right to deviate from the same without departing from the spirit of my invention and the scope of the appended claims.

I claim "1. A collapsible post card and receptacle,

the remaining major portion being uncreased and one of the minor portions being at one end of the strip, said adjacent major and alternate minor portions being adapted to form a receptacle, said outer minor portion being fastened to said uncreased majorportion at its juncture with the adjacent major portion whereby said receptacle is extended when said cover is raised.
