WILLIAM SCHMIDT, OF CHICAGO, ILLINOIS.
DISH-DRIER.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Aug. I5, 1916.
Application filed February 18, 1915. Serial No. 9,026.
T0 allzu/1.0m t may concern:
Be it known that I, WILLIAM SCHMIDT, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of the city of Chicago, county of Cook, and State of Illinois, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Dish-Driers, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to improvements in dish driers, and has for its object the provision of an improved construction of this character which is simple and efficient in use.
The invention consists in the combinations and arrangements of parts hereinafter described and claimed.
The invention will be best understood by reference to the accompanying drawings forming a part of this specification, and in which- Figure l is a perspective view of a dish drier embodying my invention, Fig. 2, an end view of the same, Fig. 3, a top plan view of the same, and Fig. 4, a side view of the same shown partially in section.
The preferred formv of construction, as illustrated in the drawings, comprises a wooden base member 5 in the form of a vconverging channel member having drain grooves 6 in its bottom. Supporting pins 7 are arranged in the sides of base member 5 and project upwardly therefrom, the upper ends of said pins being connected by means of cup supporting rails S which are in turn connected together by means of cross pins 9, as indicated. The rails 8 are provided with notches 10 adapted to engage the mouths or Copies of this patent may be obtained for lips of cups 11 suspended on said pins and hold said cups in inclined position, as indicated in Fig. l so as to facilitate draining thereof. A supplemental channel support 12 is also secured on the pins between rails 8 and base member 5 for use with small dishes or saucers.
The arrangement set forth is a simple and efficient one for the purpose. By arranging the supporting pins 7 in converging rows, provision for different sized dishes is made.
While I have illustrated and described the preferred form of construction for carrying my invention into effect, this is capable of variation and modification without departing from the spirit of the invention. I, therefore, do not wish to be limited to the precise details of construction set forth, but desire to avail myself of such variations and modifications as come within the scope of the appended claim.
Having described my invention what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
A dish drier comprising a cup supporting rail; and upstanding pins on said rail, there being notches in the side of said rail, each notch being situated opposite a pin, substantially as described.
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
