It will be observed that when the patch is applied to the cam in the position illuse trated, namely, just behind the point of the pain, or, in other WOIdS, at-the point of largto overyveight the cam at that point. I have found'm practice that if this type of cam, thus overweighted, is used in a certain type est diameter of the cam, the patch serves 1 of loom l obtain very important advantages in the running of the loom. I doano claim this broad idea in this application, as the same is made the subject matter of a copending application Serial No. 74,793, filed January 28, 1916.
Having thus described my invention,what I claim is:
1. The combination with a cam having a portion of its periphery worn down, of a patch plate bolted to the side of the cam at a point coincident with said worn portion and having an operative or peripheral sur- 1 face bridging; said Worn portion in circumferential alinement with theperipheral sur face of the cam.
2. The combination with a cam having a portion of its peripheral surface Worn down, said cam being provided with a lateral flange f at its periphery, of a patch and means for bolting it at the side of the cam at a point coincident with the Worn down portion, the peripheral surface of this patch bridging the worn down portion and lying in alinement with the peripheral surface of the cam patch plate being provided gramme or f along its inner peripherai edge to engage under said lateral flange 3.
