IMPROVEMENT IN MOSQUITO CANOPV-HOLDERS.

Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 117,370, dated July 25, 1871.

To all whom it may concern: j

Beit known that I, LYMAN M. BATES, of Wooster, in the county of Wayne and State of Ohio,

have invented certain new and useful Improve- A ments for Mosquito Canopy-Holder; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying' drawing and to the letters of reference marked thereon which form part of this specification, in which- Figure 1 is a perspective of the angular support; Fig. 2, a perspective of the clasp; Fig. 3, a perspective of the socket; and Fig. 4 a perspective of a bedstead on areduced scale, showing the manner of adjusting the supports or holders.

The nature of my invention consists in the construction of a mosquito canopy-holder, in the manner hereinafter set forth.

To enable others skilled in the art to make and use my device, I will now proceed to describe its construction and mode of adjustment.

D represents a metal holder, which is cast with three sockets at right angles to each other. A represents a circular cup, with ears a a to be attached to the side rails of a bedstead near their inner corners. B is a semicircular ring or clasp,

also provided with ears b b for securing it to the ned stead a short distance above the socket or cup vother canopy may rest or be suspended. The cup A and clasp B are intended to be secured to the side rails by means of screws, and may without any inconvenience remain permanently attached thereto, which will admit of the canopy beingeasily and quickly adjusted or removed.

I am aware that rubber sockets have been used, each socket made separately and tacked to the rods. I am also aware that rings have been used to support the rods, and do not desire to so claim TIgny invention as to include either of these modes;

What I do claim, and wish to secure by Letters Patent, is-

The combination of holders D D, sockets or cups AA, braces B B, and rods gg, all constructed and arranged substantially as and for the purpose described.
