To all whom it may concern:

Be it known .that I, AMos E. JoHNsoN, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Northumberland, in the county of Nortliumberland and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Educational Game Devices; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.

This invention relates to an improved educational game device, one object of the invention being to .provide a device of this character which shall be susceptible of wide rangeof useful instruction imparted in an entertaining and attractive manner, and to so construct the device that it may comprise members which shall be interchangeable and reversible to adapt it for educational games differing more or less in specific characteristics.

With these and other objects in view, the invention consists in certain novel features of construction and combinations and arrangements of parts as hereinafter set forth and pointed out in the claims. I

In the accompanying drawings; Figure 1 is a plan View of a game device showlng an embodiment of my invention; Fig. 2 is a sectional view of the same, and Fig. 3 is a view illustrating various characters of edu cational data which may be placed upon various disks.

1 represents a table, which may be made of wood or any other suitable material and which may have a circular form. I prefer to support this table upon legs 2 which may be secured thereto in any suitable manner. The table 1 is provided centrally with a hole for the reception of a hub or socket piece 8, which latter is of sufficient height to project some distance above the plane of theupper face of the table, and it may be provided with an annular shoulder 4 to engage the central portion of a disk 5. located upon the table and through which said hub or socket piece passes.

My improved device comprises a plurality of disks 5 and the'hub or socket piece may be removably attached to the table, whereby the disks may be interchanged or reversed, as desired. ter being thus revolubly mounted over the table and the disk thereon. The pin may be removably supported by the hub or socket piece so that the arrow may be readily removed without removing the socket piece, to permit the placlng of a diskupon or removable of a disk from the table.

One or both faces of each disk is divided by radial lines 8 and the spaces formed by these lines maybe subdivided by circular lines 9,-so that a number (preferably about symbols are employed and they may bearranged indiscriminately 1n the spaces of the circular series 0.

In operating the device, one player will cause the rotation of the arrow, and his score will. be the arithmetical deduction, according to the figures and symbol in the radialseries of spaces a, b, c, where the arrow comes to rest. For instance, if the arrow should come to rest in the position shown in Fig. 1, the .players score would be, two as 8 divided by 4 equals 2. Should the arrow come to rest in line with a radial series of spaces including a minus symbol, the score would be the difierence be-/ tween the two figures in the spaces w, c, of such radial series,for instance '8 minus 4 equals 4. In like manner, the stopping of the arrow in line with a multiplication symbol, the figures in the spaces would be mul. tiplied to arrive atthe score, and the figures in spaces a and 0 would be added when the arrow stops in line with an addition symbol. The players will spin the arrow in turn, and the one who first attains a predetermined score, will be the winner.

Instead of providing the several arithmetical symbols, indiscriminately arranged on the same disk, separate disks may be arranged for addition, subtraction, multiplimay be provided with figures and symbols,

on one face and on the reverse side, other characters may be placed,-such as letters, pictures of buds and animals, or the names or pictures of army generals representing opposing sides 1n a war,-or if deslred, sepa' rate disks may be provided tor each class of characters above referred to, or any other class of characters.

Various slight changes might be made in the details of construction Without departing from the splrit thereof or limiting its scope and hence I do not Wish to restrict myself to the exact details herein set forth.

Having fully described my invention what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters-Patent, is

1. An educational game device comprising a table, having a central hole, a removable hub entering said central hole, a plurality of'disks having central holes, held in place on the table by said hub, each of said disks having educational matter thereon differing from such matter on the other disks, whereby said disks may be interchanged and permit the playing of Various-educational games and a pointer disposed over the table and provided with a pin revoluhly mounted in said removable hub.

2. An educational device, comprising a table, a removable hub mounted on said table and projecting upwardly therefrom, a spinning arrow provided with a pin mounted in said hub, and a removable disk held in place on said table by said hub and having a central hole to accommodate the latter, said disk having educational data thereon.

3. An educational game device, comprising a spinning arrow and a disk having three circular series of spaces, two of series of spaces containing figures, and the intermediate circular series of spaces-containing various arithmetical symbols in radial alinement with spaces of the other two circular series.
