My invention is an improved music holder adapted for general use but more particu larly for use by performers who carry their instruments. It is adapted especially for the attachment of music to band or otherv portable instruments and supports.

The improvements are characterized by the simplicity and efficiency .of the mechanism, by which a book is supported from the top and readily opened, closed or detached,

When the music is not required the cross bar. with the book thereon is readily de tached and can be placed in a pocket of the performer or otherwise protected.

Having described my invention, I claim:

1. In a music holder, arod, means com prising loops for holding separate sheets so that they can be turned to opposite sides of said rod, and clamping means for engaging sheets on opposite sides of said rod.
