To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, HARRY W. HEPNER, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Allentown, in the county of Lehigh and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and Improved Polishing-Mitt, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.

Among the principal objects which the present invention has in view are: to provide an article of the character mentioned with a tubular brush affording a number of surfaces, adapted for special employment; to provide a wallet-like container for said brush, foldable to facilitate personal carriage or the packing within a satchel or trunk; and to provide a device as characterized having means for carrying a toilet equipment.

Desm'iptz'0n.As seen in the accompanying drawings, the tubular extension which constitutes the double brush herein mentioned, has a half-section 11, preferably constructed from heavy-nap velvet or shortnap plush, to provide a bristly surface 12, adapted for use on the clothes or hat of a person. The opposite half-section 13 is provided externally with a suitable material for rubbing or otherwise cleaning the shoes of the person. The two sections are united lengthwise to form joints 15. Between the edges of the joints 15, and midway of the length of the extension, is disposed a holding strap 16. The strap 16 is somewhat lengthened to permit the insertion thereof between the fingers of the wearer, to serve as a gripping member for the hand when using the brush.

The tubular extension is sewed to the edge 17 of an open-ended pocket 18. When not in use, the half sections 11 and 13 are flat toned down upon each other and turned to be inserted in the pocket 18, which thereafter serves as a protection for and against said sections.

The outer wall of the pocket 18 is doubled, having an outer layer 19. Between the wall of the pocket 18 and the outer layer 19 is provided a folded member 20, which is divided lengthwise by lines ofstitching 21 and 22 to form pockets or receptacles of different widths. It will be noted that the open ends of said pockets formed by the stitching 21 and 22, are turned upward or toward the wrist of the user of the brush when the same is disposed in service, as shown best in Fig. 6 of the drawings. The pockets thus formed are provided to receive such toilet articles as shoe buttons, combs and other articles.

When the mitt is packed, and the brush extension is inclosed in its pocket 18, said mitt may be folded lengthwise, as seen best in Fig. 1 of the drawings, and in this condition is placed in a satchel or other receptacle, or carried in the pocket.

While I have herein described the invention as employing a tubular member as a brush, and have further indicated the pre ferred construction as having faces formed from cliflerent materials, I do not wish to be so limited, as it is evident that a material fold-ed, instead of constructed in the tubular form, may be employed, and that said material may be faced with the same material throughout.

Claims:

1. A mitt comprising a tubular toilet brush having rubbing surfaces constructed of different materials to serve a variety of uses; and a containing pocket for said brush, said pocket being hinged to said brush.

2. A mitt comprising a tubular toilet brush having rubbing surfaces constructed of different materials to serve a variety of uses; and a containing pocket for said brush, said pocket being hinged to said brush, the sides of said pocket completely covering said brush.
