Be it known that I, GI-IARLES L. Noon, a citizen of the United States, residing in VVoburn, in the county of. Middlesex and State of Massachusetts, have invented an Improvement in Toys or Games, of which the following description, in connectionwith the accompanying drawings, is a specification, like characters on the drawings representing like parts. I

This invention relates to a game or toy apparatus having an inclined runwayv down which a marble, ball or other device travels into a receptacle at the lower end of the runway.

The invention has for its object to provide a game or toy of the character described with an inclined runway having means intermediate its ends tocause a ball or like device to jump into the air as it passes down the runway. It is preferred to make the runway of two members, which cooperate to form a continuous runway, and one of which is provided with a nose for causing the ball or other device to jump into the air as it passes from one member to the other. Provision may and preferably will be made for enabling the ball or other de vice to be returned to the operator as will be described. These and other features of this invention will be pointed out in the claims at the end of this specification.

In the present instance, Ihave shown one construction of apparatus embodying this invention, which consists essentially of two members a, b, pivoted to uprights c, d,

erected upon a base c, said members being provided in their upper surfaces with grooves or channels 10, 12, which cooperate to form a runway in which travels a die-- vice, herein shown as a ball or marble'13, but which may be any other device, such as the well known roly-poly. The member 6 is provided at its lower end with a box or receptacle 14L, preferably shaped like a triangle and" having erected upon its bottom a plurality of pins 15 forming spaces for the reception of the ball, said spaces being which spacethe ball will come to rest groove of the other member.

The base 6 may be provided intermediate its ends with a cross bar 30, which may and preferably will be pivoted to the base, so that it can be turned crosswise thereof and afford a broad bearing for the apparatus when in use, or which can be turned under the base so as to extend in the direction of the length thereof for shipping purposes.

I have herein shown one construction of apparatus embodying the invention, but it is not desired to limit the invention to the particular construction shown.-

Claims- 1. In a game apparatus of the char cter described, in combination, grooved members cooperating to form an inclined runway, and independently pivoted, a box or recep tacle cooperating with one of said members to receive a de "ice from said member and provided with marked spaces for the reception of said device, and a nose on the normally lower end of the other or upper of said members, for the purpose specified.

2. In a game apparatus of the character described, in combination, a pivoted upper runway member, a pivoted lower runway member, a receptacle attached to said lower, runway member, and means on the upper runwaymember cooperating with the lower runway member to turn the latter on its pivot, substantially as described.

' 3. In a game apparatus of the character described, in combination, a pivoted upper runway member, a pivoted lower runway member, and means on the upper runway member coiiperating with the lower runway member to turn the latter on its pivot, for the purpose specified.

4. In agame apparatus of the character described, in combination, a pivoted upper runway member provided with an upwardly extended nose at its lower end, and a pivoted lower runway member with which said nose cooperates, substantially as described.

In a game apparatus of the character described, in combination, an inclined upper runway member, an inclined lower runway member, and a nose on the lower end of the upper runway member projecting above the upper end of the lowerrunway member and inclined upwardly abovethe upper surface of said lower runway member.
