The present holder will prevent the rattling of the' sash, and will eliminate the necessity of' the usual pulleys, cords and Weightsemployed for counterbalonoing the sash, and which require Considerable time and expense in their installation. The friotion strip 3 will' prevent the spring 2 from scratching or marring the jamie, and will also rictionally engage the jarnb ll in such Ya manner es to hold the sash properly in place.
Having thus described the invention, what is claimed as new is A sash holder embodying a bar, vand a leaf spring having one end secured to one end of the bar and having its free end pointed, the bar having e longitudinal series of outstruok pointed spurs adjacent its other end and providing apertures into which the pointed end of the leaf' spring is engageable behind the said spurs.
