My invention relates to dental'bridges, and has for its object to provide a new of which the following is a .and improved means of anchoring a bridge extension carrying one or more artificial teeth to'one or. more crowned roots The full objects and advantages of my invention will appear in connection with the detailed description thereof and are particularly pointed out in the claims.
In the drawings, illustratin the application of my invention in one form, Figure 1 illustrates a portion of a mold of the upper jaw viewed from theinside, showing the crown thereon having the means for receiving and holding my bridge-extension. Fig. 2 is a View similar to Fig. 1 showing the bridge-extension in position. Fig. ,3 is a detail View ofthe bridge-extension separate from the teeth With which it cooperates.

A spring finger 20 is secured to the portion 17 at a. point near the inner socket 19 and extends in a direction such that the curved end 21 of said finger 20 may engage beneath the pro-1 jecting ledge 14 of the crown 10 when the bridge is applied in position, and will snap under said ledge so as to apply to a certain amount of pressure to the piece 17 and hold the plate 15 firmly in contact With the gum.
\Vith this appliance a plate of artificial teeth, such .as 16, will be practically as ef- Iicient and substantial as natural teeth. The
spring finger 20, particularly in combination with ledge 14: and the posts 12, 13 in sockets 18, 19, provides a particularly efficient and satisfactory means of. holding the tooth plate permanently in operative position. I 1
I claim:
An appliance for dentistry bridge-work comprising a double tooth crown, a pair of posts formed along the inside of said crown and adjacent the back edges of the teeth,
one of said teeth being provided with an inwardly-extending projecting portion on the side thereof, a plate having a member provided with a pair of sockets for sliding over said posts, and a spring finger secured at its end to said member adjacent the rear socket and engageable with said projecting portion to hold the plate in operative position.
