I claim 1. A double-walled bodyencircling band, composed of two continuous side portions adapted to confine an interposed body of air, and united at their opposite ends to form-thinl end tabs., and y,between their ends to form# a tbin central"nondntiatable poi tion which Subdividers/the band into front and rear inflatable portions, a narrow air pass-age being provided which extends across said non-inflatable portion and connect-s said infiatable portions, an iniiating tube `connected with one of the inflatable portions, fastening,r devices adapted to connect l said end tabs, and straps adapted to support the band'i'rom the Wearcrls shoulders,

said straps being arranged to hold the thin portion formed by the connected tabs under vone arm, and to hold the said .thin noniratable port-ion under the other arm, so that the said thin 'portions permit free play of the wearers arms.

2. A life-preserver comprising a doublewalled body-encircling; band having iniiata ble Jfront and back portions, and. end pon tions adapted to moet under one arm of the wearer, and adapted to be detacliably con Vnccted, the .walls being' connected partly across the band between the 'front and back portions to form a thin flexible portion nir4 der the other arm ot the wearer, and means w for.cfmtractingvv the band at said flexible portion. x In testimony' whereof l vleave ainxed signature, in presence oit two` witnesses.
