To all 1071,0272 it may concern Be it known that I, l i iLtiaar H. ()Cox- NOR, a citizen of the United States, residing at East Orange, in the county of Essex and State of "New Jersey, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Means for Feeding Material; and I do hereby declare the following to be a'full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art'to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference beinghad to the accompanying drawings, and to figures of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specificutting.means, and to provide'for feeding this'material whether it is thick or thin or even if it is uneven on its surface, and to also give way onthe introduction of any foreign material with the leather into the machine.
The invention consists in the method of securing the rollers to the shaft that drives them so that they will yield, and means for supporting the shaft onwhich the rollers are mounted.
The invention is illustrated in the accom panying drawing in .which- Figure 1 is-a section through" the feeding means showing it in conjunction with a knife of a leather splitting machine, and illustrating in elevation the supporting means for the rollers. Fig. 2 is an end view of the feeding means with one of the rollers in section and also showing a form of spring bearing for :one end of the shaft.
