DONALD L. CAIN, OF OKOBOJ'I, IOWA.
PLATE-HOLDER KIT.
Application filed August 24, 1912.
To all whom, it may concern:
Be it known that I, DONALD L. CAIN, a citizen of the United States of America, residing at Okoboji, in the county of Dickinson and State of Iowa, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Plate- Holder Kits, of which the following is a specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawing.
This invention relates to cameras and has special reference to a plate-holder kit therefor.
Qne object of the invention is to provide a simple form of plateho1der kit which may he slipped into the ordinary plate holder for the purpose of allowing the use of a small size plate in a large camera.
Vith the above and other objects in view this invention consists in general of certain novel constructions, combinations and arrangements of parts as will be hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawings, and specifically claimed.
In the accompanying drawings like characters of reference indicate like parts in the several views, and: Figure l is a front elevation of a plate-holder kit constructed in accordance with this invention. Fig. 2 is a rear elevation thereof. Fig. 3 is a section on the line 3-3, of Fig. 1. Fig. t is a section on the line 4 Fig. 1. Fig. 5 is an end view thereof.
In the construction of this invention there Specification of Letters Patent.
are employed side bars which are jointed to an end bar 11 at one end and to an end 1 Copies of this patent may be obtained for Patented June 24:, 1913.

bar 12 at the other. The side bars 10 and end bars 11 are each provided with an overhanging strip 13 while the bar 12 is without any such strip. The ends of the strip 13 adjacent the bar 12 are flared as indicated at 1% for the purpose of permitting the ready introduction of a plate.
In using the invention the plate-holder kit is slipped inside of the usual plate holder with the plate in position. The plate is then used in the ordinary manner.
There has thus been provided a simple and efficient device of the kind described and for the purpose specified.
Having thus described the invention, what is claimed as new, is
A plate-holder kit for cameras comprising a pair of spaced side bars, an end bar connecting the side bars at one end, overlapping strips projecting over the outer edges of said bars and spaced from the inner edges, a second end bar connecting the remaining ends of the side bars, said strips having their inner edges adjacent the second bar flared for constituting a guiding means for facilitating the insertion of a plate into the holder and for preventing the corners of the plate from becoming nicked during the insertion.
In testimony whereof I hereunto aflix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
