% PATEEN @FFTQ:
INFANTS GARMENT.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, KARL HEINRICH, a subject of the German Emperor, residing at Uttweiler, Germany, have invented an Improved Infants Garment, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to an infants garment of novel construction, which insures the comfort and cleanliness of the child and may be so fitted in'position, as not to be come readily displaced.
In the accompanying drawing: Figure 1 is an outer or bottom view of an infants garment embodying my invention; Fig. 2 an inner or top view thereof, and Fig. 3 an enlarged section through the cupped rubber lining. u
The garment consists essentially of a belly band 9, to the outer side of which are secured a pair of straps i. To one of such straps there is removably attached-by means of a buckle 72, a strip m. To this strip is secured a front buckle k adapted to be engaged by the free strap 2', a pair of top buckles 7L2 adapted to be engaged by shoulder straps Z, and a lower buckle 72, adapted to be engaged by the strap 9 of a front flap 9 This front flap 9 depends centrally from a pair of side flaps 72 which are adapted to be folded around the legs, and are provided with a pair of buckles k that may be connected by a common band. The body of the garment constructed as described is removably secured by straps e and buckles 6 to an annular air cushion 6 made of rubber, or other flexible material. Vithin the central opening or eye of this cushion is accommodated a cup shaped rubber lining a Specification of Letters Patent.

provided with a rear flap 6 adapted to removably engage a keeper k of side flaps 7c, and a front flap 6 adapted to removably engage keeper 9 of front flap 9 Front flap 6 is surrounded on its sides by a ridge 0 for restricting the flow of the urine and guiding it into the cup. Within the cup is contained a charge of cotton cZ packed around a wire bail 6Z1 that serves to hold the filling in place. Cup 6 is surrounded by a screen f fitted into the eye of cushion e and made of metal or other rigid material.
It will be seen that the garment may be securely buckled to the childs body and that all discharges are kept off the body and are received by the cup of the removable lining, so that cleanliness is insured.
I claim:
1. An infants garment comprising a body portion adapted to be fitted to an infant, an annular cushion secured to said body portion, a lining having a cup-shaped depression which is received by the cushion, and a filling within saiddepression.
2. An infants garment comprising a body portion adapted to be fitted to an infant, an annular cushion secured to said body portion, a lining having a cup'shaped depression which is received by said cushion, a flap on said lining, a ridge extending along the sides of said flap, and a filling within the depression.
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
KARL HEINRICH.
