JOSEPH B. LAMB, OF NEW BRITAIN,. CONNECTICUT, ASSIGNOR TO LANDERS, FRABY dz CLARK, OF NEW BRITAIN. CONNECTICUT, A CORPORATION OF CONNECTICUT.
LUNCH-BOX.
Specification of Letters Patent.
' Application filed March 5, 1912. Serial No. 681,683.
, To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, JOSEPH F. LAMB, a citizen of theUnited States, and a resident of New Britain, in the county of Hartford, State of Connecticut, have invented certain new and useful Im rovements in Lunch-- Boxes, of which the ollowing is a specification.
The object of the invention is'to produce a device of the character described having features of novelty and advantage.
An embodiment of the invention is illustrated in the drawings in which- Figure 1 is a side elevation with parts broken away to show construction. Fig. 2
' is a sectional end view.
a denotes the base or food compartment having slide ways b at the upper side edges thereof, 0 denotes the top, the lower side edges of which are channeled as at d, to fit about said slideways and to provide a sliding engagement between said top and bottom.
e is, a bottle holder secured within the top which may be of any form, such as a pair of spring clips as illustrated, or some other equivalent device.
At one end of the base there is provided a spring supported pin f adapted to interlock with the rolled over edge 9 of one end of the top, the lower edge of the other end .said topi of the top being extended downwardly as at c' to form a stop.
In Fig. 1 the parts are shown in assembled position. The movement of the to to the left will cause the pin to be depressed unlocking the top which can then he slid off of the base exposing the food compartment below and the bottle carried in a suitable holder in the top. To, assemble the parts, the channels at the edges of the top are fitted onto the slideways and then the top is slid onto the base until the ed 6 9 passes over the spring pin f, the depen mg edge a of the opposite end of the box coming up against the base to form a; stop.
I claim as my invention:
In a lunch box a base having sidewalls, slideways formed at the upper side edges thereof, a top having side walls, channels formed at the lower side edges thereof adapted to engage said elide'waysfla'closure for each end of said top,a s ring supported to enpin mounted in said base an adapte gage the lower edge of one of the closures of and a depending flange on the opposite c osurc adapted to bear against the opposite end of said base to form a'positioning stop.
