county, State of New York, have invented new and useful Set of Domino or Playing Cards, of which the following isa specil'- cation, taken in connection with the accompanying drawings.

My invention relates to games played by means of tablets or cards resembling dominoes, and it consists in a set of tablets 01' cards as. hereinafter described and the manner of using the same to play games.

I have illustrated in the accompanying drawing a set of tablets or cards embodying my invention, wherein each of the several views represents one of the tablets or cards in the set. As will be seen the set comprises twenty-eight pieces, each piece bearing a number except one which is blank. The pieces have impressed upon them, as by printing, stamplng or the like, the following numerals :1 to 6, inc usive; 11 to 16 inclusive; 22 to 26 inclusive; 33 to 36 inclusive; 4:4: to 46 inclusive, 55, 56, and 6G,. one numeral being upon each piece, and one piece without a. numeral, that is to say a blank. I also color the several pieces distinctively so as to form color series or color groups. For example I may use the colors red, white and blue, so that there will be nine numeral )ieces'in each one ofthese cc ors, the blan i piecebeing in white, as indicated on the drawing and by the following table:

A number of diilerent games may be played by means of a set of cards as described. It. will be understood that the pieces will be distributed to the players who play their pieces in succession or rotation. I or example, one game may be played with. the color sets above described, the player forming or completing; the most color sets o't' red, white and blue being the winner.

Another game or games may be played by successively adding the numbers on the pieces as played, The total of all the numbers is 672 and the player who completes that total will make the point or trick.

Other combinations may be made if the numeral 36 be commenced with, as follows:

In addition to the poinis or tricks made by the combinations above sci. forth other points or tricks may be made by the player who cnnniake i he color sei's described. For example in the total of 96, above set forth, the first combination of 6.6, 26 and 4- makes a color sett-l.1e 66 being red, the 26 being white, and the 4 being blue.

Other games than the totals and color set combination games may be played with the set of tablets or cards described. For example, a lotto game may be played by using two sets of the tablets or cards, one set to be dealt to the players and the other to call the numbers from.

Any of the games usually played with ordinary dominoes may be played with my set of tablets or cards, since if the numerals or figures on any piece be taken separately each figure will represent the number of spots on a domino. For instance the piece bearing the numeral 66 will correspond to the double (3 (6-6) in dominoes; the piece bearing the numeral 6 will correspond to the 6- blank in dominoes, and so forth.

It will be seen that my invention provides a variety of games and is educational in that it makes the players familiar with the totals or sums produced by various combinations of numbers.

It will be understood that the tablets or pieces may be made of any suitable material.

\Vhat I claim is 2- 1. A set of playing cards or pieces, said pieces having a numeral on their respective faces, said. numerals forming a plurality of groups of consecutive numbers, one of said groups having its numerals of single figures,

the other of said groups having its numerals of two figures, and each of said two-figure groups having its sequence beginning with the numeral or number in which the two figures are alike.

A. set of playing cards or pieces, saic pieces being of ditlerent colors to form different color groups, substantially as described, said pieces having a numeral on their respective faces, said numerals forming a plurality of groups of consecutive numbers, one of said groups having its numerals of single figures, the other of said groups having its numerals of two figures, and each of said two-figure groups having its sequence beginning with the numeral or number in which the two figures are alike.

3. A set of playing cards or pieces each of which, except one which is blank, bears on its face a numeral, said numerals being as follows, to wit: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5,6,11,12,13,14,15, 1c, 22, 23, 24, 25, 2s, 33, 34, 35, 36, 4 4, 45, 46, 55, 56, and 66.

4, A set of playing cards or pieces differently colored, substantially as described, to permitof a plurality of similar color series being formed therewith, each of said pieces, except one which is blank, bearing one of the following numerals: 1,2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 22,23, 24, 25, 26, 33, 34, 35, 36, 44, 45,46, 55, 56,66.
