The term glue as employed in the present speeilicaiion and claims, is intended to include glue, paste, gum. mucilege, or any equi alent semi-liquid adhesive material or substances, such as may be employed for sticking or attaching labels upon bottles or paesuges.

Said screw is provided with a suitably formed heed, preferably a checked or corrugated thumb-head, whereby it can be conveniently turned in or out for varying the relation of the glue-box and roller in respect to each other and thereby regulating the space between the gage-lip 2% and face of the roller 13, to cause a thicker or thinner film of glue to pass out upon the roller for distribution upon the face of the pickers. The set screws are preferably formed of such size and arranged in such relation to the forwardly portuberantportion of the glue-box, that, the'ends of the screws and the rounded portion of the reservoir serve as feet'for standing the glue-ho upon a table or bench (see (lot and dash line Ton 7) when removed from the machine. and with the glue This is a feature of considerable convenience in practice, since the removal of a glue-ho for cleaning or otherwise, is of frequent occurrence in the management of labeling machines.
