Be it known that l, JOHN Gf. Porre, citizen of the United States, residing at Denver, in the county of Denver and State of Goloradoa have invented new and useful lio. provenients in Rain-hlalrers, of vrich 4 flip 4.- 1.11.0
following is a specification.
This invention relates to devices or producing rain. i
The object of the invention is to produce a device employing a balloon and a condite i tor carried thereby and connected with the earth and having means for receiving an electrical charge from the clouds and con veying the same to thev conductor.
A further object o the invention is the provision of a device of this character einploying a balloon carrying a plurality of charge receiving spurs at the top thereof which renders the balloon top heavy so that,l
the
shoul'd the conductor which carries charge to the earth become ruptured, balloon would upset permitting the hot air or gases therein to escape so that it would all to the ground, and further means for causing the balloon to produce a parachute whichA renders the fall comparatively easy or, in other Words, decreases the momentum thereof.
Further objects of the invention Will ap-pY lhated with hot air or any suitable means and which is connected to the ground url limited in its forward movement a metalu lic conductor 2. This conductor is conn o" ed at its end by wires 1 together at their cent-ral points l conductor Ll W.Lich is adapted vide en attaching ineens for a ate portion of the balloon as herein" be described. The upper end are connected to a twisted cable o constructed of a plurality of twisten. 6, one of which extends vertically cable 5 in the :term of e receiving' '4.
