.M invention relates t0 an improved form of t ose., refusedestructor furnaces which 'are providedwith a plurality of grate cells and separate ashpits for each cell and with a hollow furnce front surrounding the iring and clinkering openings of the grate cells, said hollow furnace fronts communl caring withfthe ashpits'of said cells and .ing perforations through which the air heated in Said fronts passes to the furnace.

Vhat I claim is:

\ In a refuse destructor furnace the combi nation of a plurality of grate cells with the tiring and clinkering openings with separate ashpits for each of said grate cells, hollow arched bars and supporting jam blocks surrounding the tiring and clinkeringopenings of said cells,`said hollow arched bars and supportin jam blocks being provided with air holes acing away from said firing and clinkering openings and with passages connecting the interior of said jam blocks with
