' To all whom it may] concern.
HUBEn'r F. Kinm'rz, a citizen of the United States, residing at Brooklyn, in the county of Kings, city and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Metering- Panels, of which the following is aclear, full, and exact description.
This invention relates to meter panel boards, and particularly to that type of board shown in my Patent 961,142 of June l-lth 1910.
The object of the invention is to provide a switch connecting the branch circuits with the main circuits, which will cause each circuit to be broken on both of its legs at the same time, at the time of disconnecting the meter from the circuit.
A further object is to provide an improved selective contact mechanism for the connection of meter bars with the individual circuits.
Other objects of the invention relate to the general and special construction and arrangement of parts.
The scope of the invention will be pointed out in-the appended claims.

The conductor blades 24 which,contact with the car 23 have their other ends at 27 flared outwardly to engage with a bent-over ear 28 secured to the bar 29, which is one leg of the neutral bar 7. This log 29 of the neutral bar has its corrcspmidin'g leg on the other side of the board, as do all the parts described. They are however, placed nearer together than shown in my prior patent, so as to lie below and behind the drum, or rings hereinafter described. As the switch blades 24 are mounted with some distance between, it will be seen that a simple manipulation of the switch will. disconnect both sides of the branch circuit.
As shown in my prior patent the meter bars 15 are brought in "from the sides of the board, and raised in a series of steps as indicated in Fig. 5, the steps being of different height and. cntering'a drum 30 of insulating material the bars are arranged along the outside of the drum, and parallel to its axis, each meter bar preferably being of T cross section, and having a dished exposed outer surface 31 with which there may contact a shoe 32 carried by an insulating ring 38. The shoe 32 is held in contact with the bars by a spring 34 surrounding a post 35 passing through a. bearing 36 fastened by screws 37 to an extending lug 38 of the ring 26, said ring being provided at equally spaced distances around its circumference with open jaws 39 adapted to be engaged with the contact blades 24: of the switch. placed with reference to the jaws that it will always connect agiven. meter bar when one of the jaws 39 is exactly and precisely opposite the switch arm so that to operate the switch will insure a proper registry of the connecting shoe with the meter bar. In order .to determine which of the meter boards shall be connected with switch between the branch circuit and theselective contact device and bus bar, Where- -by any one of the plurality of switch engaging contacts can be brought into a position to engage with the proper switch contact.
2. The herein described panel board consisting of a back board, bus bars and cross bars, meter bars grouped around a common center, a selective contact device adapted to contact with any one of said meter bars, branch circuits, a double poled switch between the branch circuits and the selective contact device and bus bar, and means carried by the selective contact device to permit the operation of the switch only when the selective contact device is in engage ment with a meter bar.
3. The herein described panel board consisting of a back board, bus bars and cross bars, meter bars grouped around a common center, a selective contact device adapted to contact with any one of said meter bars, branch circuits, a double poled switch'between the branch circuits and the selective contact device and bus bar, and means car ried by the selective contact device to perdrum, a shoe carried by the ring adapted to contact with a meter bar, engagement points spaced about the ring adapted for engagement with a switch arm, one of said bus bars having a contact located beneaththe point of engagement of the switch and se-' lective contact ring, branch circuit contacts in two planes, and a switch having contact arms in two planes one adapted to engage a v branch circuit leg'and bus bar connection, and the other adapted to engage a branch circuit leg and selective contact ring.
5.'The herein described panel consisting of cross bars, bus bars, meter bars and a selective contact device adapted to contact with any one of the meter bars, said contact device being movable, and adapted to be brought into operative position adjacent to a branch circuit connection, a switch between said branch. circuit connection and selective contact device adapted not only to electricallyconnect said contact devicelwith branchcircuit, but to lock said selective con tact device in position.
