To all whom it may concern Be it known that 1, PAUL E. Tanmrr, a citizen of the United States, residing at dlaremont, in the county of Sullivan, State of New Hampshire, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Combined Shade and Curtain Brackets; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.

This invention relates to combined shade and curtain brackets.

The object of the invention resides in the construction of a combined shade and ourtain bracket which may be adjusted so as to conform to the diiferentlengths of shades and curtain poles.

A further object of the invention resides in providing means for clamping said brackets in a desired adjustment and in further providing means whereby the bracket is brought into interlocking engagement with the window frame under the influence of said clamping means, to secure the bracket more positively against movement from a desired adjusted position.

With these and other objects in view, the invention consists in the details of construction and in the arrangement and combina tion of parts to be hereinafter more fully described and particularly pointed out in the appended claim.

In describing the invention in detail, reference will be had to the accompanying drawing, wherein like characters of reference denote corresponding parts in the several views; and in which,

Figure 1 is a front elevation of a fragment of a window frame with the improved shade and curtain bracket associated therewith; Fig. 2, a plan view of what is shown in Fig. 1, with the shade and curtain bracket shown in dotted lines; Fig. 3, a section on the line 3--3 of Fig. 1; and Fig. 4:, a detail perspective view of one of the bracket members.

Referring to the drawings, the bracket is shown as comprising members A and B which are adapted to be supported at opposite ends of the top of a window frame. Each of these members comprises a plate 10 having slots 11 and 12 therein which extend transversely of the window frame. Passing through each of the slots 11 and 12 are clamping screws 13, the inner ends of which engage the window frame. By this construction, it will be apparent that the plate 10 can be adjusted transversely of the window frame and then secured in any desired adjustment by manipulating the screws 13. The outer end of each of the plates 10 is provided with a right-angular extension 14, the extension 1 1 of the member A being provided with a recess 15 in its upper edge, while the extension 14 of the member B is provided with an aperture 16, said recess 15 and aperture 16 serving to receive the ends of the shade roller in the usual manner. Secured to each of the members A and B is a curtain pole supporting member 17, the outer ends of which terminate in a vertical portion 18 with which the curtain pole is adapted to be engaged. The inner ends of each of the members 17 are passed through the extensions let and then bent so as to project through the plate 10. That portion of the inner end of the member 17 which passes through the plate 10 terminates in a point 19 which is adapted to engage the window frame so as to assist the screws 13 in holding the plate 10 against movement trans versely of the window frame when said plate is in a desired adjustment.
