\ This invention relates to improvements in g loose leaf binders, and it is the object of the invention .to provide aY binder for loose leaves of any kind-inwhich the leaf engaging means may be adjusted to various points l with respect to each other to bring them opposite perforations or apertures formed in the sheetsto be' secured. v

n It. is 'also an object of the invention to provide a binder with a securing back portion .having openings formed therein and leaf engagmg securing means adjustably mounted in .said openlngs. y s v It is a further object of the invention to provide a loose-leaf binder in which the back of the binder is formed with openings, the

' The details of the invention will now be 4more particularly described, reference being had to the drawing in which 5 and 6 indicate-the front and back leaves of the cover of the binderand 7 the connect-ing back interposed between said leaves. 'The back 1s formed with a hollow metallic portion usually made of curved back and front plates 8 and 9 respectively which are crim .edy or otherwise fastened togetherat then' e ges-as l thus formed with alongitudinal recess extending between said plates and portions of i the front plate 9 are cutawayA at 10 to ac commodate and permit the adjustment of the leaf 'securing means employed. The said leaf securing means is made up of slides or l plates .11 which are of approximately the full wldthof the opening in' the back and are arranged to slide longitudinally withiny the space bet-Ween the front andrear plates. The plates 11 are formed with their edges turned over to provide grooves at 12 and 13 1n whlch ring carrying plates 14 and 15 are -movably mounted. The said plates, 14 `and 15 areheld with their meetinn' edges opposite each other, by Amoans of double hea studs 16 the spaces between the heads ofwhich are sufficient to permit the said plates to rock in and out, for opening .and ' closing plates 14 and 15 is such that when they are .the leaf holding means.
