To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that we, JULIUS Y. JOHNSON and FREDERICK C. BARTZ, citizens of the United States, residing at Scranton, in the county of Lackawanna and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Combined Mirrors and Cabinets, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to improvements in combined cabinets and adjustable mirrors, and has for one of its objects to simplify and improve the construction and increase the efliciency and utility of a device of this character.

Another object of this invention is to provide a device of this character wherein a plurality of mirrors are swingingly supported and adapted to be coactively employed to enable a front, side, and partial back view of a person to be seen, at the same time foldable into parallel relations to form closures to the cabinet.

Another object of the invention is to provide a device of this character wherein are a plurality of frames each having a mirror and foldable into parallel relations and provided with suitable receptacles which seat within the cabinet when the frames are folded.

With these and other objects in view, as will more fully appear as the description proceeds, the invention consists of certain constructions, arrangements and combinations of the parts that we shall hereinafter fully describe and claim.

For a full understanding of the invention, reference is to be had to the following description and accompanying drawing, in which: 7

The improved device comprises a cabinet represented as a whole at 10 and including a top 11 and side members 12-13 of any suitable size or material and provided with any suitable arrangement of shelves, pigeon holes, drawers or the like, and it is'not deslredtherefore to limit the improved device so far as the construction of the interior of the cabinet is concerned. For the purpose of illustration the cabinetis shownprovide'd with a plurality of shelves 14 spaced apart in the usual manner. The upper member 11 of the cabinet is preferably arranged to overhang the front as represented at 15 in Fig. 3. The outer ed es of the shelves "14; are spaced inwardly; rom the outer edges of the front, and hingedly united at 17 to the interior of the cabinet so that a space is f left between the lower edge of the frame 18 and the bottom 20 of the cabinet. The frame 18 with its mirror 19 thus forms when closed a closure for the upper portion of the front of the cabinet, and for the purpose of'this description will be referred to as the inner frame. Hinged at 21 to the same end of the cabinet to which the member 18 is hinged, in the drawings the end 13, is another or outer frame 22 having a mirror 23 presented toward the mirror 19 of the frame 18 when the two frames 18-22 are disposed in parallel or closed relation. Hingedly united at 24 to the front end member 12 of the cabinet is another outer frame 25 having a mirror 26. The two outer frames 22-25 correspond in height to the cabinet 10 and the mirrors -23-26 are shorter than their respective frames 2225, or equal in height to the mirror 19. By this arrangement a space is left in the frame 25 beneath the mirror 26 which is occupied by a receptacle 27 while a smaller space is left on the frame 22 beneath the mirror 23, this space being occupied by a smaller receptacle, 28. By this arrangement it will be noted that the inner frame 18 when closed fits between the end members l213 and beneath the overhanging portion 15 of the top 11 and the narrow outer frames 22-25 fold over the inner frame 18 and in parallel relations thereto with the confronting edges of the outer frames in engagement centrally of the cabinet as shown'in Fig. 2. It will also be noted that when the outer frames 2225 are folded the receptacles 27-28 will pass beneath the lower edge of the frame 18 and into the interior of the cabinet beneath its lower shelf as shown in Fig. 3 and with the upper edges of the outer frames 2225 also beneath the overhanging portion 15 of the top 11. By this simple arrangement a convenient and eflicient co1nbined cabinet and swinging mirror device is produced in which the contents of the cabmet are protected 'and'covered while at the same time the two swinging outer mirrors may be employed in conjunction with the longer inner mirror to enable a person to observea partial back view. 'It will also be noted that the longer mirror 19 may be employed in coactioncwith the shorter mirror 23 to more effectually observe the side or rear view of the person and the mirrors may be adjusted upon their hinges to any re- ?uired extent to place them in better light or observation.
