Be it known t at I, JAMES I. MUCUL- Lotion, a citizen of the United States, residin at Davenport, in the county of Scott` and tate `of Iowa, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Illuminated Spirit-Levels; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will en able others skilled in the art to which it'appertains to make and Vuse the same.'

This invention relates to improvements in illuminated spirit' levels. ,L One object of the invention is to provide a spirit level of this character having an improved construction and arrangement of *electric lighting mechanism placed therein whereby the bubble may be readily seen when used in dark places.

Another ob'ect is Ato provide an electric lighted spirit evel which'will be simple and ine ensive in construction, eiiicient and reliihle in operation' and in which the lightg mechanism isfinclosed and protected 25. from injury.

With these'vand other objects in view the invention consists ofcertain novel features 'of construction, combination and arrangement of parts as will be more full described and particularly pointed4 out in the ap.- pended claims. v
