Система и способ для эффективного применения избыточности в кодировке языка. Согласно различным воплощениям изобретения передающее устройство выбирает уровень избыточности, соответствующий текущему состоянию канала передачи, и одновременно выбирает наиболее подходящую битовую скорость в имеющемся наборе режимов кодека. Согласно изобретению, уровень избыточности передачи является всегда оптимальным относительно выбора режима кодека, и повторное согласование с кодеком не является необходимым.
