Abstract
An appliance for afterburning ignition of internal combustion engines has an ignition coil generating high-voltage pulses at the output of the high-voltage winding, breaker-distributor with central electrode, this switches the high-voltage pulses for a set of spark-plugs of the cylinders of the combustion engine, and a threshold unit connected between the high-voltage output of the ignition coil and the central electrode of the breaker-distributor. The threshold unit is arranged as a column of gas discharge units.
