Abstract
A twin-unit diesel locomotive consists of two identical sections, each of which contains diesel-generator set, rectifier of electric current, starter-generator, power supply (storage battery), switching contactor, which connects electrically the power supply and starter-generator, switching contactor, which connects electrically the power supply in two sections of diesel locomotive at launching of one of diesel-generator sets, switch-on buttons of diesel-generator sets. Each section of diesel locomotive is additionally equipped with switching contactor, which connects the rectifier of electric current of operating unit of diesel locomotive with the control circuits of starting diesel-generator set in the stopped unit section and it prevents the electric coupling of the power supply (storage batteries) with starter-generator in stopped unit, switching contactor, which ensures the supply of electrical energy to the starter-generator of stopped unit from the rectifying installation of the working unit of diesel locomotive, control button of the generator starting of stopped section of diesel locomotive.
