Abstract

A method for smelting stainless steel in a bottom-blowing converter includes blowing of the alloyed melt by oxygen and mixture of oxygen with a neutral gas at simultaneous delivery of a protective gas, subsequent blowing by the mixture of oxygen with neutral gas and adding of desoxydants. In order to increase the process productivity and to decrease consumption of the protective gas the desoxydants are introduced in 2-5 minutes after the beginning of the neutral gas delivery.
