Description
本發明係關於碳二亞胺化合物、製備此等化合物之方法,及其作為轉換磷光體或在燈中之用途。
LED因為照明以及作為液晶顯示器(LC顯示器)中之背光的用途而重要性正在提高。較之習知冷陰極螢光燈(CCFL),此等新穎光源具有許多優勢,諸如壽命較長、位能節省、不存在有害內容物(諸如CCFL中之水銀)。近年來,已公開數量漸增之有關基於碳二亞胺之磷光體的論文。特定言之,其為含有碳二亞胺陰離子(CN2)2-作為中心單元且可摻雜有Ce3+、Eu3+或Tb3+之化合物。其實例為Gd2(CN2)3:Ce3+及Gd2(CN2)3:Tb3+(J. Glaser等人,Inorg. Chem. 2008,47,10455-10460)及Y2O2(CN2):Eu3+(J. Sindlinger等人,Z. Anorg. Allg. Chem. 2007,633,1686-1690)。
然而,該等磷光體之缺點在於其不能在藍色LED之發射波長(亦即440-460 nm)下激發,此為該等磷光體不適用作白光LED之磷光體的原因。此外,已知所謂的矽碳二亞胺(J. Glaser及H.-J. Meyer,Angew. Chem. 2008,120,7658-7661),其迄今僅以非摻雜形式利用且因此不適用作磷光體。
現已驚人地發現結構上類似於正矽酸酯之Eu摻雜化合物為可在可見光譜之藍色及UV區激發以產生綠色至紅色螢光之有效磷光體。
因此,本發明之第一實施例為式I化合物,
EA2-ySi(CN2)4-xOx:Euy (I)
其中EA表示一或多個選自Mg、Ca、Sr、Ba或Zn之元素,且x表示在0至3.9之範圍內的值,且y表示在0.01至0.4之範圍內的值。
與正矽酸酯磷光體相反,可稱作鹼土金屬矽碳二亞胺之此等化合物在濕氣下不穩定。另外,本發明之磷光體與正矽酸酯相比呈現發射波長紅移,此係由於與氧氣相比碳二亞胺基之共價數稍高之故。
x較佳表示範圍在0至3.0及尤其較佳範圍在0至2.5內之值。
y較佳表示範圍在0.02至0.35及尤其較佳範圍在0.04至0.30內之值。
在另一實施例中,式I化合物可另外含有鹼金屬,諸如Na、K或Li。
本發明之磷光體產生良好LED品質,甚至當少量使用時亦如此。LED品質在本文中係經由習知參數描述,習知參數諸如為CIE x及CIE y座標中之顯色指數或色點。
顯色指數或CRI為熟習此項技術者所熟悉之無量綱照明量,其比較人工光源與日光及/或燈絲光源(後兩者具有100之CRI)之色重現忠實性。
CIE x及CIE y表示在標準CIE色圖(在本文中為標準觀測者1931(standard observer 1931))中之座標,該CIE色圖為熟習此項技術者所熟悉,藉助於其來描述光源顏色。上述所有量均藉由熟習此項技術者所熟悉之方法自光源發射光譜計算。
在本申請案之上下文中,綠色發射或綠光表示強度最大值處於508 nm與550 nm之間的波長下之光;相應地,黃色表示最大值處於551 nm與585 nm之間的波長下之光,且紅色表示最大值處於610 nm與670 nm之間的波長下之光。
本發明此外係關於一種製備式I化合物之方法。
為此目的,在步驟a)中,混合至少3種選自含鈣、鍶、鋇、鎂、鋅、矽及/或銪之物質的起始物質,且在步驟b)中,視情況將無機或有機物質添加至混合物中,接著在步驟c)中,較佳在還原性條件下對混合物進行熱後處理。
上述熱處理較佳至少部分在還原性條件下進行。在步驟b)中,反應通常在超過800℃之溫度下,較佳在超過1000℃之溫度下及尤其較佳在1100℃-1300℃範圍內進行。在本文中,如下建立還原性條件:例如使用一氧化碳、成形氣體或氫氣或至少真空或缺氧氛圍,較佳在氮氣流中,較佳在N2/H2氣流中及尤其較佳在N2/H2(95-80:5-20)氣流中。
所用無機或有機物質(在步驟b中)為來自以下之群的物質:鹵化銨(較佳為氯化銨),或鹼土金屬氟化物(諸如氟化鈣、氟化鍶或氟化鋇),或助熔劑,諸如硼酸鹽、硼酸或醇化物、乙二酸酯及/或矽酸酯,諸如正矽酸四乙酯(TEOS)。
在另一實施例中,磷光體可另外包含至少一種來自以下之其他磷光體材料:氧化物、鉬酸鹽、鎢酸鹽、釩酸鹽、石榴石、矽酸鹽、鋁酸鹽、氮化物及氧氮化物,在各情況下個別地包含該等磷光體材料或包含其與一或多種活化劑離子(諸如Ce、Eu、Mn、Cr及/或Bi)之混合物。若建立某些色空間,則此尤其有利。
式I之發光物質的吸收及發射光譜、熱消光特性及衰變時間τ1/e高度視二價陽離子之精確組成而定。上述光譜特性之關鍵因素為Eu2+之5d帶的晶場***及Eu-O或Eu-N-C鍵之共價特徵。
本發明之磷光體的粒度通常在50 nm與30 μm之間,較佳在1 μm與20 μm之間。
在另一較佳實施例中,粒子形式之磷光體具有由SiO2、TiO2、Al2O3、ZnO、ZrO2及/或Y2O3或其混合氧化物組成之連續表面塗層。此表面塗層之優勢在於經由塗佈材料折射率之適合分級,折射率可與環境匹配。在此情況下,在磷光體表面處之光散射減少且較大比例之光可透入磷光體中且於彼處經吸收及轉換。另外,因為全內反射減少,所以折射率匹配之表面塗層使較多光能夠萃取出(couple out)磷光體之外。
另外,若必須囊封磷光體,則連續層為有利的。此可為必需的以便對抗磷光體或其部分對緊鄰環境中之擴散水或其他物質之敏感性。用閉合殼層囊封之另一原因在於實際磷光體自晶片中產生之熱的熱去耦。此熱使得磷光體之螢光燈(fluorescence light)產率降低且亦可影響螢光燈顏色。最終,此類型塗層藉由防止磷光體中出現之晶格振動傳播至環境中而使磷光體效率能夠提高。
另外,磷光體較佳具有由SiO2、TiO2、Al2O3、ZnO、ZrO2及/或Y2O3或其混合氧化物組成或由磷光體組合物組成之多孔表面塗層。此等多孔塗層提供進一步降低單層折射率之可能性。此類型多孔塗層可藉由如WO 03/027015以引用的方式以其完整範疇併入本申請案之上下文中)中所述之三種習知方法產生:玻璃蝕刻(例如鹼石灰玻璃(參看US 4019884))、多孔層塗覆及多孔層與蝕刻操作之組合。
在另一較佳實施例中,磷光體粒子具有攜帶有助於化學鍵接於環境之官能基的表面,其較佳由環氧樹脂或聚矽氧樹脂組成。此等官能基可為例如酯或其他衍生物,其經由側氧基鍵結且能夠與基於環氧化物及/或聚矽氧之黏合劑的成分形成鍵聯。此類型表面具有有助於將磷光體均勻併入黏合劑中之優勢。此外,可藉此將磷光體/黏合劑系統之流變特性以及適用期調整至某一程度。由此簡化混合物處理。
因為塗覆於LED晶片上之本發明之磷光體層較佳由聚矽氧與均勻磷光體粒子之混合物(藉由大塊澆鑄來塗覆)組成,且聚矽氧具有表面張力,所以此磷光體層由顯微水準來看並不均勻或層厚度並非整體恆定。若磷光體不藉由大塊澆鑄法,但實務上以所謂晶片級轉換法(chip-level conversion process)(其中藉助於靜電法將高度濃縮之薄磷光體層直接塗覆於晶片表面上)塗覆,則情況一般亦如此。
藉助於上述方法,可能製得任何所需外部形狀之磷光體粒子,諸如球粒、薄片及結構化材料及陶瓷。
製備薄片形式磷光體作為另一較佳實施例係藉由習知方法,自相應金屬鹽及/或稀土鹽進行。製備方法詳述於EP 763573及DE 102006054331中,其以引用的方式以其完整範疇併入本申請案之上下文中。可如下製備此等薄片形式之磷光體:藉由水性分散液或懸浮液中之沈澱反應以磷光體層塗佈天然或合成製備之高度穩定支撐物或基板,包含例如雲母、SiO2、Al2O3、ZrO2、玻璃或TiO2薄片,其具有極大縱橫比、光滑原子表面及可調厚度。除雲母、ZrO2、SiO2、Al2O3、玻璃或TiO2或其混合物外,薄片亦可由磷光體材料本身組成或由一種材料構造。若薄片本身僅充當磷光體塗層之支撐物,則該磷光體塗層必須由能透過LED原輻射或吸收原輻射且將此能量轉移至磷光體層之材料組成。將薄片形式之磷光體分散於樹脂(例如聚矽氧或環氧樹脂)中,且將此分散物塗覆於LED晶片上。
薄片形式之磷光體可以介於50 nm與約20 μm,較佳150 nm與5 μm之間的厚度以大工業規模製備。直徑在此為50 nm至20 μm。
其縱橫比(直徑與粒子厚度之比)一般為1:1至400:1且特定言之為3:1至100:1。
薄片尺寸(長度×寬度)係視配置而定。薄片亦適用作轉換層內之散射中心,尤其當其具有尤其小尺寸時。面向LED晶片之本發明之薄片形式磷光體的表面可具備相對於LED晶片發射之原輻射具有抗反射作用之塗層。此使得原輻射之背向散射減少,使原輻射能夠較佳地耦合至本發明之磷光體主體中。
舉例而言,具有匹配折射率之塗層適用於此目的,其必須具有以下厚度d: d=[LED晶片之原輻射波長/(4*磷光體陶瓷之折射率)],參看例如Gerthsen,Physik[Physics],Springer Verlag,第18版,1995。此塗層亦可由光子晶體組成,其亦包括薄片形式磷光體表面之結構化以達成某些功能。
製造呈陶瓷體形式的本發明之磷光體係與DE 102006037730(Merck)(以引用的方式以其完整範疇併入本申請案之上下文中)中所述之方法類似地進行。在此方法中,如下藉由濕式化學方法製備磷光體:混合相應起始物質與摻雜劑,隨後進行均衡加壓且以薄的無孔均勻薄片形式直接塗覆於晶片表面上。因此不存在磷光體激發及發射之位置依賴性變化,此意謂具備其之LED發射恆定顏色之單色光錐且具有高光輸出。陶瓷磷光體主體可以大工業規模製造,例如以厚度為幾百奈米至約500微米之薄片形式製造。薄片尺寸(長度×寬度)視配置而定。在直接塗覆於晶片之情況下,薄片尺寸應根據以下來選擇:晶片尺寸(約100 μm*100 μm至數平方毫米)、約10%至30%晶片表面之一定程度的超大尺寸(oversize)、適合之晶片配置(例如覆晶配置)或相應地選擇。若將磷光體薄片安置於成品LED上方,則所有離開光錐(exiting light cone)均通過薄片。
陶瓷磷光體主體之側面可以輕金屬或貴金屬(較佳鋁或銀)塗佈。金屬塗層具有使光不側向離開磷光體主體之作用。光側向離開可減少萃取出LED外之光通量。陶瓷磷光體主體之金屬塗佈係在方法步驟中,在均衡加壓得到棒或薄片之後進行,其中可視情況在金屬塗佈之前將棒或薄片切至必要尺寸。為此目的,例如以包含硝酸銀及葡萄糖之溶液來濕潤側面,且隨後在高溫下暴露於氨氛圍下。在該方法中,例如在側面上形成銀塗層。
或者,無電流金屬化法亦適用,參看例如Hollemann-Wiberg,Lehrbuch der Anorganischen Chemie[Text-book of Inorganic Chemistry],Walter de Gruyter Verlag or Ullmanns Enzyklopdie der chemischen Technologie [Ullmann's Encyclopaedia of Chemical Technology]。
必要時可使用水玻璃溶液將陶瓷磷光體主體固定於LED晶片之基板(baseboard)上。
在另一實施例中,陶瓷磷光體主體在LED晶片之相反側具有結構化(例如錐體)表面。此使得儘可能多的光能夠萃取出磷光體主體之外。藉由使用具有結構化壓板之壓縮模具進行均衡加壓且因此將結構壓印至表面中來製得磷光體主體上之結構化表面。若目標為製得最薄之可能磷光體主體或薄片,則需要結構化表面。熟習此項技術者已知加壓條件(參看J. Kriegsmann,Technische keramische Werkstoffe[Industrial Ceramic Materials],第4章,Deutscher Wirtschaftsdienst,1998)。重要的在於,所用加壓溫度為待加壓物質之熔點的2/3至5/6。
另外,本發明之磷光體可在約410 nm至530 nm、較佳430 nm至約500 nm之寬範圍內激發。此等磷光體因此不僅適於藉由UV或藍色發射光源(諸如LED或習知放電燈(例如基於Hg))激發,而且適於諸如利用在451 nm下之藍色In3+線之光源的光源。
本發明此外係關於一種光源,特徵在於該光源包含半導體及至少一種式I之磷光體。此照明單元較佳發射白光或發射具有某一色點之光(顏色即需原則)。
將顏色即需概念視為意謂使用pcLED(=磷光體轉換LED)使用一或多種磷光體來產生具有某一色點之光。使用此概念例如以產生某些企業設計(corporate design),例如用於照明公司標誌(logo)、商標等。
在本發明之光源之一較佳實施例中,半導體為發光氮化銦鋁鎵,尤其為下式之發光氮化銦鋁鎵:
IniGajAlkN,其中0i,0j,0k,且i+j+k=1。
在本發明之光源之另一較佳實施例中,光源為基於ZnO、TCO(透明導電氧化物)、ZnSe或SiC之發光配置,或基於有機發光層(OLED)之配置。
在本發明之光源之另一較佳實施例中,光源為顯示電致發光及/或光致發光之源。光源此外亦可為電漿或放電源。
熟習此項技術者已知此類型光源之可能形式。其可為各種結構之發光LED晶片。
視應用而定,本發明之磷光體可分散於樹脂(例如環氧樹脂或聚矽氧樹脂)中,或在適合尺寸比之情況下直接配置於光源上,或者配置於其遠端(後一配置亦包括「遠端磷光體技術」)。遠端磷光體技術之優勢為熟習此項技術者已知且由以下出版物揭示:Japanese Journ. of Appl. Phys。第44卷,第21期(2005)。L649-L651。
本發明此外係關於一種尤其用於顯示裝置之背光的照明單元,特徵在於其包含至少一種上述光源,且係關於具有背光之相應顯示裝置,特定言之液晶顯示裝置(LC顯示器),特徵在於其包含至少一種此類型照明單元。
此外,較佳的為尤其用於一般照明之照明單元,特徵在於其CRI>60,較佳CRI>70,更佳>80。然而,若使至少兩種本發明之碳二亞胺磷光體(例如來自實例1、2及/或3)彼此組合,則CRI>80僅能在LED中達成。
在另一實施例中,在磷光體與半導體之間照明單元之光耦合較佳藉由光導配置達成。
此使得半導體可能安置於中心位置且藉助於諸如光學纖維之光導裝置光耦合至磷光體上。以此方式,可能達成適於照明願望之燈,其僅由以下組成:一或多種磷光體,其可經配置以形成光螢幕,及光波導,其耦合至半導體上。以此方式,可能將強光源置於對電氣安裝有利之位置,及將包含與光波導耦合之磷光體的燈安裝於任何所需位置而不使用其他電纜線,但實務上僅藉由佈置光波導來達成。
本發明此外係關於本發明之磷光體用於部分或完全轉換來自發光二極體之藍色或近UV發射的用途。
此外,較佳的是使用本發明之磷光體將藍色或近UV發射轉換成可見白色輻射。此外,較佳的是根據「顏色即需」概念使用本發明之磷光體將原輻射轉換成某一色點。
本發明此外係關於本發明之磷光體在電致發光材料(諸如電致發光膜(亦稱為照明膜或光膜))中之用途,其中,舉例而言,將硫化鋅或摻雜有Mn2+、Cu+或Ag+之硫化鋅用作發射極,其在黃-綠區中發射。電致發光膜之應用領域為例如廣告、液晶顯示螢幕(LC顯示器)及薄膜電晶體(TFT)顯示器中之顯示器背光、自發光車輛牌照、地面圖形(與耐壓及防滑層壓物組合),在顯示器及/或控制元件中,例如在汽車、火車、船舶及飛行器,或家用電器、花園設備、量測儀器或運動及休閒設備中。

在滾動混合器中用以下方式將實例1之磷光體與2組分聚矽氧(Dow Corning之OE 6550)混合:使等量磷光體分散於聚矽氧之兩種組分中;聚矽氧中之磷光體總濃度為8重量%。
將各5 ml之兩種含有磷光體之聚矽氧組分相互均勻混合且轉移至分配器中。藉助於分配器填充含有100 μm2 GaN晶片之來自OSA optoelectronics,Berlin之空LED包裝。接著將LED置於熱室中以在150℃下將聚矽氧固化1小時。
圖1中指示實例1之LED的發射光譜。
