Abstract

A continuously variable transmission for bicycle includes a fastening rack, a transmission mechanism, and a driving mechanism. The transmission mechanism includes a transmission disc. The driving mechanism includes a driving pulley, a sliding pulley, a belt, a pushing unit, and a restoring spring. The driving pulley is rotatably mounted to the fastening rack and is driven by a power source to rotate relative to the fastening rack. The driving pulley includes a plate and a bar. The sliding pulley is fit to the bar and rotates in synchronization with the driving pulley. The belt is circularly fit among the driving pulley, the sliding pulley, and the transmission disc. The pushing unit can push the sliding pulley to allow it to axially approach the disc body along the bar so as to allow the belt to move to a location close to peripheries of the driving pulley and the sliding pulley. The restoring spring is disposed on the bar and biases the sliding pulley in a direction away from the driving pulley.
