The invention relates to a process for producing metallic or nonmetallic molten products, which are intended for further processing by comminution, by means of a casting mould comprising a box-type wall and a base plate, and to a casting mould. In this process, the first step is to cast a reusable base plate from the molten product. After solidification, the casting mould is applied to said base plate and the molten product corresponding to the base plate is then poured off into the casting mould.
