Abstract

The present invention proposes a method and a system for accomplishing synchronous frame transmission in a multi-cell system. As propagation delays from a central control fixed part (CCFP) to several base stations may be different due to various distances, receiver/transmitter of the cable data interface between the CCFP and the base stations must be synchronized to the same frame pulse. These propagation delays may be regarded as constants and should be stored at each base station after being measured. During data transmission from the CCFP to the base stations, a specific word should be regularly placed in the transmission frame. When the specific word is detected at any base station during the fixed cycle of the frame pulse, the frame signal will be delayed for a time value starting from the rising edge of the next pulse before being transmitted out. The time value is equal to the difference between the cycle length of the frame pulse and the propagation delay value. After the frame delay, the base stations will start transmitting data frames. Then, all frames transmitted out from various base stations are synchronous.
