Abstract

A glass article having conductive antireflection coating useful as a face plate is disclosed, in which the conductive antireflection film, unlike conventional ones, undergoes no change in electrical resistance or visible ray transmittance even through heat treatment in cathode-ray tube assembling. The glass article comprises a face glass plate having a refractive index of from 1.4 to 1.7 as measured at a wavelength of 550 nm and, formed by vapor deposition on a surface thereof in this order, a 3.2 nm-thick alloy film composed of 20 wt% iron and 80 wt% nickel as a first layer, a 127.4 nm-thick praseodymium titanate film as a second layer, a 45.4 nm-thick magnesium oxide film as a third layer, and a 71.7 nm-thick magnesium fluoride film as a fourth layer, and has a visible ray transmittance of 1% or lower. The metal layer, made of a nickel-iron binary alloy, may have a nickel content of from 5 to 95 wt%.
