Abstract

This invention pertains to an air bag unfolding method that effectively prevents punching and air bag produced by this method that is inexpensive and doesn't require complicated sewing. The invention comprises a first space A1 surrounding the air outlet 3b of air generator 3, and a second space A2 outside the first space and facing the passenger. The gas released from the gas generator 3 inflates the first space. Then the inflation pressure of the first space breaks a part of the boundary between the first space A1 and second space A2, and allows the gas to pass this broken part 11 from first space A1 to second space A2 and inflate the second space A2. And by deploying a first pace that inflates first at the initial period, undesirable inflation of the air bag when it first unfolds toward the front and back directions can be inhibited.
