Abstract

The invention relates to a method and a system for charging a battery of accumulator modules (M1-M20). According to the invention, groups (G1-G4) of accumulator modules are defined in the battery, and at least one charging phase of the battery is broken down into a plurality of successive and repeating micro-cycles of charging of each of the groups of accumulator modules. The invention allows the battery to be charged with a huge current while maintaining a charging power compatible with domestic mains electricity. It is applicable in particular to the implementation of an on-board charging system for an electric automotive vehicle.
