Abstract

A liquid cooled ingot mold for the continuous casting of the thin steel slab ingot is formed with two broad side walls (2), which stand opposite to each other and are composed from a copper plate (8) and a steel or the like supporting plate (9). The mold cavity, which is defined by the copper plates (8), is fixed detachably on the supporting plates (9) by means of the metallic bolts (12) made by a CuNiFe alloy. The metallic bolts (12) are welded on the copper plates (8). Hereby, a nickel ring (13) is utilized as welding additive material. In the copper plates (8), the coolant channels (10) as well as the cooling holes (11) in the range of the cross sectional plane (QE) from the metallic bolts (12) are provided.
