Abstract

A discharge lamp characterized in comprising: an illumination part having electrodes in the interior thereof, a sealing part formed on the two ends of the illumination part, a substantially cylindrical glass member disposed in the sealing part, a metallic plate disposed on the illumination part side of the glass member, an internal wire fastened to the metallic plate and extending to the interior of the illumination part and connecting with the electrodes by the front end thereof, an external wire extending outwards from the sealing part, a conductive foil one end of which being connected to the metallic plate while extending towards the exterior of the glass member in a rectangular direction and the other end connecting to the external wire in a wiring type, and a separating member clamped between the glass member and the metallic plate and having a thickness smaller than the thickness of the metallic plate.
