Abstract

A digital video camera, which comprises: an optical sensor having a first horizontal resolution and a first vertical resolution and suitable for capturing a first image with a controllable exposure time in which the first image comprises a second horizontal resolution and a second vertical resolution; an amplifying element connected to the optical sensor to convert the first image into a second image; an analog-to-digital converter connected to the amplifying element to convert the second image to a first digital image; an image processor connected to the analog-to-digital converter to convert the first digital image to a digital output image; and a digital output interface to receive the digital output image from the image processor and output the digital output image from the digital video camera.
