Abstract
A solid-state disk sector link processing method comprises of: (1) with microprocessor on solid-state disk keeps tracking whole sector link list information, which looks for boot sector on power on reset, then microprocessor allocates one sector, the procedures are: <1> checking sector link list, checking if requested logic sector is existing, if not, then jumps to steps <3>; <2> changing dirty bit of corresponding sector link pointer from 1 to 0, representing that corresponding sector of sector address pointed by the pointer is dirty, the sector space should be released; <3> finding end of sector link list, checking next sector if it contains all 0FFH for writing, if yes, then jumps to step <5>; <4> representing there is no empty available, there should have some dirty sector not released, performing clean on demand to release the above sector space; <5> writing requested data into sector, building one set of new sector link pointer describe the data sector; (2) with microprocessor on solid-state disk keeps tracking of block swapping needed by clean up, the procedures area; <1> copy used and not dirty data sector in block along with sector link list to spare block one set by one set; <2> erasing the old block and increasing age count by one and writing age count recorder, the block is new spare block; (3) with microprocessor on solid-state disk keeps tracking of wear leveling algorithm; <1> by the characteristic that the above available sector must closely next to next sector of sector link list end, using all available space once in average; <2> searching max. and min. age count when microprocessor is idle, if the difference reaches 2, then swapping these two blocks via spare block.
