Abstract

For interference-resistant and manipulation-resistant acquisition of the information from identification carriers (13) which are read out by way of high-frequency magnetic fields, there is provided at least one antenna carrier (12) with juxtaposed axially flat antenna coils (11) which are functionally combined together to form groups (g,u) in such a way that no immediately mutually adjacent antenna coils (11) occur in the same group (g,u). Multiplex switching-over is effected between the individual groups (g,u) with antenna coils (11) which are at a spatial distance from each other, for the transfer of the items of information from any detected identification carriers (13) to an evaluation memory (22). To avoid cross-coupling effects, the antenna coils (11) are short-circuited, with the exception of those of the group (g,u) which is just being interrogated. All antenna coils (11), even those of a plurality of antenna carriers (12) which are operated in side-by-side relationship, are actuated in phase-locked relationship with the same high frequency and all groups (g,u) involving the same geometrical association criteria are switched-over in phase-locked relationship with the same multiplex frequency in order to avoid electrical beat phenomena and magnetic field distortion effects. The items of information which are transmitted to the evaluation memory (22) and which are read out of identification carriers (13) that are just being detected are linked to a radio-supported item of real-time information (24) and possibly additionally to a random background pattern from a code generator (21) so that any subsequent attempts at manipulation can be clearly recognised on the items of information which are stored for processing.
