習知之繩帶多由複數股線以單一織造方法編織而成，僅能藉由改變織法或該些股線之顏色以產生不同變化之外觀，變化性有限且加工步驟複雜。此外，習知之繩帶之外表面多為平順延伸，於綁束時摩擦力不足而容易鬆脫，結構強度亦不佳，存在亟待改善之缺弊。Conventional ropes are mostly woven from multiple strands of yarn using a single weaving method.
