FIG. 2 is a schematic top view of a signal line 150 of the display panel 100 according to some embodiments of the present invention. Referring to FIG. 1 and FIG. 2 simultaneously, in various embodiments of the present invention, the signal line 150 includes a first connection section 152, a plurality of first extension sections 154, a second extension section 156, and a second connection section 158. The first connecting segment 152 is located outside the first side S1 of the display area DA and is substantially perpendicular to the first side S1. In some embodiments, the first connection section 152 is used at least partially as a solder pad, and is provided corresponding to the flexible circuit board 160. The plurality of first extension sections 154 are electrically coupled to the first connection section 152. The plurality of first extension sections 154 can be specifically divided into first extension sections 154-1 and 154-Z. The first extension sections 154-1 and 154-Z are defined as the signal line 150 extending from the first connection section 152 to the first extension section 152. A plurality of sections in which the extension lines EL1 of the two sides S2 are sequentially connected. For example, in this embodiment, one end of the first extension section 154-1 is connected to the first connection section 152, the other end of the first extension section 154-1 is connected to the first extension section 154-Z, and the first extension section 154 -Z is adjacent to the extension line EL1 of the second side S2. Here, the first extension segment 154-Z overlaps the extension line EL1 of the second side S2. The second connection segment 158 is disposed outside the second side edge S2 of the display area DA and is substantially parallel to the second side edge S2. The second extension section 156 is (directly) electrically coupled between the second connection section 158 and the first extension section 154.

In various embodiments of the present invention, the extension line of each of the first extension sections 154-1 and 154-Z and the extension line EL2 of the first connection section 152 have an included angle, and the included angle gradually decreases as it moves away from the first connection section 152. Get bigger. For example, the extension line of the first extension segment 154-1 and the extension line EL2 of the first connection segment 152 have an angle Aa, and the extension line of the first extension segment 154-Z and the extension line EL2 of the first connection segment 152 have an angle Az. From the vicinity of the first connection section 152 to the distance from the first connection section 152, the included angle gradually increases, for example, the included angle Aa and the included angle Az sequentially increase. In this way, the purpose of transferring the line can be achieved in a limited space while maintaining the width of the first extension 154 of the signal line 150 as much as possible. In other words, in a specific embodiment, the first extension section 154 before the second extension section 156 extends in a specific clockwise or counterclockwise direction without extending in two directions, thereby reducing the possibility of excessive impedance. .

In some embodiments, the first extension 154-Z is substantially parallel to the first side S1, so that the included angle Az is 90 degrees. Here, the first extension section 154-Z is the first extension section 154 farthest from the first connection section 152. In other words, the first extension section 154 furthest from the first connection section 152 is substantially parallel to the first side S1. At this point, the signal line 150 can be changed from a vertical direction to a parallel direction. This parallel direction is advantageous for etching the photomask so that the signal line 150 can be patterned during the formation process.

142。 On the other hand, the angle Ba between the extension line of the second extension section 156 and the extension line EL2 of the first extension section 154 is smaller than that of the extension line of the first extension section 154-Z and the extension line EL2 of the first extension section 154. The included angle Az. The extension line EL2 'is shown here to specifically indicate the range of the included angle Ba. The extension line EL2' is parallel to the extension line EL2. In this way, the purpose of transferring the line can be achieved in a limited space while maintaining the width of the second extension 156 of the signal line 150 as much as possible. So far, the signal line 150 can be turned from a parallel direction to a vertical direction, and the gate driver 142 can be electrically coupled.

In some embodiments, at least one side of each first extension segment 154 (eg, the first extension segment 154-1, the first extension segment 154-Z) is a straight line, so that the first extension segment 154 is divided into sections as a whole. Bright turn. Although only two first extension sections 154-1 and 154-Z are exemplified here, the scope of the present invention should not be limited in this way. In other embodiments, more than three first extension sections may be provided. Similarly, in some embodiments, at least one side of each second extension segment 156 is a straight line, so that the second extension segment 156 as a whole is a distinct turning line. Although only a single second extension section 156 is exemplified here, the scope of the present invention should not be limited in this way. In other embodiments, more than two second extension sections may be provided, and a detailed description will be provided later. It should be understood that the scope of the present invention should not be limited by straight sides. In other embodiments, the first extension segment 154 and / or the second extension segment 156 may be curved.

In various embodiments of the present invention, the display panel 100 may include a light shielding layer LS (refer to FIG. 3), which is disposed on the first substrate 110 to define a display area DA. Specifically, the light-shielding layer LS may have an opening to expose the display area DA and shield areas other than the display area DA. Viewed from the drawing directions of FIGS. 1 and 2, the first side S1 and the second side S2 is the side of the light shielding layer LS (for example, the edge of the opening of the light shielding layer LS). Here, from the drawing direction of FIGS. 1 and 2, the extension line of the first side S1 and the extension line EL1 of the second side S2 can divide the display panel 100 into four quadrants. The outside of the first side S1 of the display area DA "refers to the first quadrant, the" outside of the second side S2 of the display area DA "refers to the third quadrant, and the" display area DA "refers to the fourth Quadrant.

FIG. 3 is a schematic cross-sectional view taken along lines 3A-3B and 3B-3C of FIG. 2. Refer to Figures 2 and 3 at the same time. In some embodiments, the display panel 100 further includes an auxiliary signal line 150A and an insulating layer 170. The insulating layer 170 is disposed between the signal line 150 and the auxiliary signal line 150A, and has a thickness of about 2000 Angstroms to 6000 Angstroms, for example, about 4000 Angstroms. The auxiliary signal line 150A is disposed on the signal line 150. In this embodiment, the first extension 154-Z of the signal line 150 has a first portion P1 covered by the auxiliary signal line 150A and a first portion P1 not covered by the auxiliary signal line 150A. Two parts P2. In some embodiments, the insulating layer 170 has a first through hole 172 and a second through hole 174. The first through hole 172 corresponds to the first connection section 152 of the signal line 150, and the second through hole 174 corresponds to the first of the signal line 150. The first portion P1 of the extension 154-Z. Here, the display panel 100 further includes a conductive adhesive 210 disposed on the first connection section 152 of the signal line 150. The conductive adhesive 210 is filled in the second through hole 174, so that the auxiliary signal line 150A passes through the first pass of the insulating layer 170. The hole 172 and the second through hole 174 are electrically coupled to the signal line 150. In this way, although the width of the first extension 154 of the signal line 150 is narrow, the resistance of the signal transmission can be reduced by setting the auxiliary signal line 150A, which is equivalent to increasing the size of the cross-sectional area in the signal transmission path, and avoiding excessive resistance due to this. High and prone to high temperature.

Here, the auxiliary signal line 150A has an opening 150B corresponding to the first through hole 172 of the insulating layer 170, and the conductive adhesive 210 is filled in the opening 150B and the first through hole 172. The flexible circuit board 160 includes a bonding pad 162. So far, the bonding pad 162 of the flexible circuit board 160 is electrically coupled to the signal line 150 and the auxiliary signal line 150A through the conductive adhesive 210. In this way, the components on the circuit board 300 (refer to FIG. 1) can be electrically coupled to the components on the substrate 110 through the flexible circuit board 160.

190。 In some embodiments of the present invention, the display panel 100 further includes a protective layer 180, an electrostatic protection element 190, and a lead 200. The protective layer 180 is disposed on the signal line 150 and the auxiliary signal line 150A, and has a thickness of about 1000 Angstroms to 4000 Angstroms, for example, about 2000 Angstroms or 3000 Angstroms. The ESD protection element 190 may be disposed between or over the insulating layer 170 and the protective layer 180. For example, the ESD protection element 190 may be a diode, a capacitor, or a combination thereof. The conductive wire 200 is disposed on the protective layer 180 and connects the second portion P2 of the first extension 154-Z and the electrostatic protection element 190.

As mentioned above, the auxiliary signal line 150A does not cover the second portion P2 of the first extension 154-Z, and then the second portion P2 of the first extension 154-Z is allowed to be connected by the wire 200, so that the signal line 150 The static electricity protection element 190 is electrically coupled through the wire 200. In this way, an insulating layer 170 and a protective layer 180 are provided between the conductive line 200 and the signal line 150, and referring to FIGS. 1 to 3 at the same time, when a plurality of signal lines 150 and the conductive line 200 are provided, crossover can be avoided. A crosstalk between the conductive line 200 of the signal line 150 and the signal line 150. Here, in order to effectively avoid mutual interference, a double-layer design (insulating layer 170 and protective layer 180) is adopted between the conductive line 200 and the signal line 150. In other embodiments, if the thickness of the insulating layer 170 is sufficient to resist the above-mentioned mutual interference, it is not necessary to design the protective layer 180 between the conductive line 200 and the signal line 150.

FIG. 4 is an enlarged schematic top view of a part P4 of the display panel 100 in FIG. 1. The plurality of signal lines 150 may be specifically divided into signal lines 150-1 to 150-n, and the plurality of first extension sections 154 may be specifically divided into first extension sections 154-1, 154-2, and the like. One of the first extensions 154 (here, the first extension 154-1) of each of the signal lines 150-1 to 150-n has a side substantially parallel to the source fan-out line 134. Specifically, as shown in the figure, the source fan-out line 134 includes a plurality of fan-out wires 134-1 to 134-n, at least one side of the first extension 154-1 and a side of the fan-out wire 134-1. The sides are parallel. In various embodiments of the present invention, the maximum widths of the first extensions 154-1 of the signal lines 150-1 to 150-n are not significantly different. For example, the maximum width W1 of the first extension 154-1 of the signal line 150-1 is 1.5 to 5 times the maximum width W2 of the first extension 154-1 of the signal line 150-2. Furthermore, the maximum width W1 of the first extension 154-1 of the signal line 150-1 is 1.5 to 3 times or 2 to 3 times the maximum width W2 of the first extension 154-1 of the signal line 150-2. . Here, the signal line 150-1 is closer to the source fan-out line 134 than the signal line 150-2. For example, the signal line 150-1 is one of the signal lines 150 closest to the display area DA, and the signal line 150-2 It is one of the signal lines 150 next to the display area DA. Here, the signal line 150-1 may be a power line, for example, a COM power line for providing a ground potential, and the signal line 150-2 may provide a timing signal to sequentially control the gate driver 142 to output a scanning signal. In other embodiments, the maximum width W1 of the first extension segment 154-1 of the signal line 150-1 may be 1.5 of the maximum width of the first extension segment 154-1 of one of the signal lines 150-3 to 150-n. To 5 times.

In some embodiments, opposite two sides of at least one of the first extension segments 154 are parallel to the sides of the source fan-out line 134. As shown in the figure, the source fan-out circuit 134 includes a plurality of fan-out wires 134-1 to 134-n, the two opposite sides of the first extension 154-1 of the signal line 150-2 and the fan-out wire 134-1. The sides are parallel.

Through the above configuration, the width of each signal line 150-1 ~ 150-n can be made more even, and the problem that the width of some signal lines 150-1 ~ 150-n is too small and the resistance is too high can be avoided.

Returning to FIG. 3, in some embodiments of the present invention, the display panel 100 further includes a second substrate 220, a liquid crystal layer (not shown), and a sealant 240. The second substrate 220 is disposed opposite the first substrate 110. A liquid crystal layer (not shown) is disposed between the first substrate 110 and the second substrate 220. The sealant 240 is disposed between the first substrate 110 and the second substrate 220 and surrounds the liquid crystal layer (not shown). The sealant 240 covers the wires 200 and the second through holes 174 to prevent dust or corrosion from affecting its electrical properties. Here, the sealant 240 is located in a region other than the display area DA, and the liquid crystal layer (not shown) is located in at least a region within the display area DA. Here, the sealant 240 can completely fill the area outside the display area DA, and the liquid crystal layer is limited to the display area DA. Of course, the scope of the present invention should not be limited in this way. In other embodiments, the liquid crystal layer may be located in a region other than the display area DA, that is, a region of the sealant 240 in the figure.

In various embodiments of the present invention, the first substrate 110 is, for example, a thin-film transistor substrate, and the second substrate 220 is a color filter substrate. The light-shielding layer LS is disposed on the second substrate 220. This is limited. In other embodiments, the first substrate 110 may be a color filter on array (COA) substrate or a black matrix on array (BOA) substrate.

So far, in some embodiments of the present invention, the design of the signal line has a special turning mechanism, which can improve the problem of excessive resistance of the signal line while maintaining a narrow frame design. It should be understood that the pixels 120, the wires of the gate fan-out line 144, the wires of the gate input line 146, the wires of the source fan-in line 136, and the wires of the source fan-out line 134 in the various drawings of the present invention. (For example, fan-out wires 134-1 to 134-n), the number of signal lines 150, or the slope distribution are for illustration only, and should not be used to limit the scope of the present invention.

158。 FIG. 5 is a schematic top view of a signal line 150 of a display panel 100 according to another embodiment of the present invention. This embodiment is similar to the embodiment shown in FIG. 2 except that in this embodiment, the auxiliary signal line 150A covers the first connection section 152, the first extension section 154, the second extension section 156, and the first extension section 152 of the signal line 150. The two connecting sections 158 and the second through holes 174 of the insulating layer 170 correspond to the second connecting sections 158 of the signal line 150.

150。 In this embodiment, the conductive wire 200 and the ESD protection element 190 connected to the signal line 150 may not be provided (refer to FIGS. 2 and 3). Alternatively, the electrostatic protection element 190 may be configured to be electrically coupled to the signal line 150 in other suitable manners.

In this way, although the width of the first extension 154 and the second extension 156 of the signal line 150 is narrow, the resistance of the signal transmission can be reduced by setting the auxiliary signal line 150A, which is equivalent to increasing the cross-sectional area in the signal transmission path. And avoid the situation that the resistance is too high and easy to produce high temperature.

The other details of this embodiment are as large as the embodiment shown in FIG. 1, and are not repeated here.

156-1、156-Z。 FIG. 6 is a schematic top view of a display panel 100 according to still another embodiment of the present invention. This embodiment is similar to the embodiment shown in FIG. 1 except that, in this embodiment, the first extension section 154 includes first extension sections 154-1, 154-2, 154-Z, and the second extension section 156 includes The second extensions 156-1, 156-Z.

154-Z。 In some embodiments of the present invention, one end of the first extension section 154-1 is connected to the first connection section 152, the other end of the first extension section 154-1 is connected to the first extension section 154-2, and the first extension section 154-2 An end remote from the first extension 154-1 is connected to the first extension 154-Z.

As mentioned above, the extension line of each first extension segment 154 and the extension line EL2 of the first connection segment 152 have an included angle, and this included angle gradually increases as it moves away from the first connection segment 152. For example, the extension line of the first extension segment 154-1 and the extension line EL2 of the first connection segment 152 have an angle Aa, and the extension line of the first extension segment 154-2 and the extension line EL2 of the first connection segment 152 have an angle Ab, the extension line of the first extension segment 154-Z and the extension line EL2 of the first connection segment 152 have an included angle Az. From the vicinity of the first connection section 152 to the distance from the first connection section 152, the included angle gradually increases, for example, the included angle Aa, included angle Ab, and included angle Az sequentially increase. In this way, the purpose of transferring lines can be achieved in a limited space while maintaining the width of the signal line 150 as much as possible.

156-Z。 In some embodiments of the present invention, the plurality of second extension sections 157-1 and 156-Z are defined as a plurality of sequentially connected areas where the signal line 150 extends from the first extension section 154 and connects to the second connection section 158. segment. For example, here, one end of the second extension section 156-1 is connected to the first extension section 154, and the other end of the second extension section 156-1 is connected to the second extension section 156-Z.

In various embodiments of the present invention, the extension line of each second extension section 156 and the extension line EL2 of the first connection section 152 have an included angle, and the included angle gradually decreases as it moves away from the first connection section 152. For example, the extension line of the second extension section 156-1 and the extension line EL2 of the first connection section 152 have an angle Ba, and the extension line of the second extension section 156-Z and the extension line EL2 of the first connection section 152 have an angle. Bz. From the vicinity of the first connection section 152 to the distance from the first connection section 152, the included angle gradually decreases, for example, the included angle Bz is smaller than the included angle Ba. In this way, the purpose of transferring lines can be achieved in a limited space while maintaining the width of the signal line 150 as much as possible.

As used herein, the so-called extension lines (such as the extension line EL2 of the first connection section 152, the extension line of the first extension section 154, and the extension line of the second extension section) refer to the opposite sides of the element. Middle line. The so-called included angles (for example, included angles Aa, Ab, Az, Ba, Bz) refer to the rotation angles of the front and rear ends of the component with respect to the front and rear ends of the signal line 150 (ie, the first connection section 152).

The other details of this embodiment are as large as the embodiment shown in FIG. 1, and are not repeated here.

In some embodiments of the present invention, the design of the signal line has a special transfer mechanism, which can improve the problem of excessive resistance of the signal line while maintaining a narrow frame design.
