This invention provides an electric motor 300, comprising: a stator core 1; a rotor 200 disposed inside the stator core 1; a cover body 3a disposed on an axial end face of the stator core 1, a molding resin portion 4a disposed between a plurality of coil end portions 2a and the cover body 3a, and a cylindrical housing 10 disposed on the radially outer side of the cover body 3a and also disposed on the radially outer side of the stator core 1. In addition, the outer diameter of the cover body 3a is smaller than the inner diameter of the housing 10, and the outer peripheral surface of the cover body 3a does not contact with the inner peripheral surface of the housing 10.
