Abstract

To provide a rolling bearing assembly capable of accomplishing a high speed operation, an increased lifetime by the utilization of only a grease filled in the bearing assembly, a maintenance-free and an effective lubrication. This rolling bearing assembly includes an inner ring 1, an outer ring 2 and rolling elements 3. By way of example, a stationary raceway ring is the outer ring 2. A stepped surface area 2b continued from a raceway surface 2a in the outer ring 2 is provided in a direction away from the rolling elements 3. A gap forming piece 7 is provided, which has a free end face confronting the stepped surface area 2b through a gap 15 and forming a flow path 14 in a portion of a peripheral wall between it and the outer ring 2. A grease reservoir 9 is provided in communication with the flow path 14. At a free end face of the gap forming piece 7, there is provided an arcuate piece 16 for closing a portion of the circumferential direction of the gap 15 between the free end face and the stepped surface area 2b.
