A method for inputting Chinese characters by using a keyboard, the keyboard comprising a button for configuring an initial according to a Chinese pinyin scheme and a button for configuring a final according to a Chinese pinyin scheme, the method comprising the steps of: by pressing an initial consonant according to a Chinese pinyin scheme Press the button to input the initials; input the finals by pressing the button configured to match the finals of the Chinese pinyin scheme; and recognize the input initials and finals as the corresponding Chinese characters according to the Chinese pinyin scheme. 16.
